Executive members of the CPUT’s Alumni Association Ms Andiswa Mali holds a B.Tech degree in Quantity Surveying and currently works for Eskom as a Project Manager in East London. In 2006, Andiswa was chosen by the Department of Trade and Industry for the Accelerated Share growth exchange program that became renowned as the initiative of the former Deputy President of South Africa, Mrs. Phumzile Mlambo Ngcuka. Andiswa spent six months with TATA Consulting Engineers based in Mumbai, where her knowledge of the construction and property industries was hugely expanded. Andiswa says that the exchange programme was instrumental in teaching her effective and efficient ways to use her training for the betterment of all the people. Jeff Daniels holds a BTech in Civil Engineering and is the Director of Daveng Consulting Engineers, a company that he co-founded in September 2004. After studying BTech Civil Engineering at the CPUT, Jeff completed a B Eng degree in International Civil Engineering Management in the Netherlands. 2 Jeff’s long term goal is to give more - financially, socially and time-wise - to those who live in poverty. Jeff believes that every South African, irrespective of their social standing or circumstances, deserve opportunities to improve their lives. Mandla Ntlanganiso is currently studying for his M Tech in Business Administration and is the manager of the Bellville Office of the South African Social Security Agency. Here he provides strategic leadership and management of the office and is responsible for ensuring improved service delivery in the administering of grants. Mandla is also deeply involved in sporting activities. He was appointed by the Minister of Sports and recreation to the board of Boxing South Africa, and is also the current President of the Buffalo City Young Professional’s Network. Simphiwe Ntlantsana holds a BTech in Internal Auditing and is Managing Director at Ntlantsana Accountants and Auditors, a company he founded in 2011. Simphiwe was mentored by Human Resource specialist Ms Hilary Ackerman while he was doing his matric. Hilary not only mentored him, but also funded Simphiwe’s studies at CPUT. The role that this played in his life was immense, and Simphiwe is determined to continue this legacy by mentoring and investing in the education of others. Simphiwe is an active member of the Black Management Forum in the Western Cape, the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Southern African Institute for Business Accountants, amongst others. 3 Mfundo Lee Marasi holds a BTech in Information Technology and is a Telecoms Technician at PetroSA. Mfundo is an avid believer in the power of volunteerism, having volunteered his time and skills for events such as the Cricket World Cup in both 2003 and 2007 and the International Aids conference in Spain in 2002. He was voted Community Leader of the year at CPUT’s Student Life Excellence Awards for his role as the HIV/AIDS coordinator in 2001. Mfundo is also heavily involved in coaching and mentoring at the CPUT. He recently coached the CPUT Table Tennis team which won 7 Gold, 2 silver medals and 6 Bronze medals at the University Summer Games in December 2012.
