In the know and in touch with student needs, issues, concerns.
Outreach to new students.
The biggest value my first year was having a forum to get information
from the students ahead of us. That was not present last year.
Student-only organization --supportive --not mandatory-- involvement
level is self-determined
Get together
I like that we see each other at least once a month as a department.
Having a time to have all of the students in the program together (1st,
2nd, 3rd year)
Guest speakers
A place where all the students can get together. The opportunity to get to
know older students.
Space for students to do just about anything they want to support each
other in professional development, leisure, research, etc
