Conditions of Entry
Each Club must supply the following personnel to be eligible to enter competition:

Coach

Umpire - non playing (refer to Umpire Mentoring)

Club Court Official – assist with running and central timekeeping

Trainer/First Aider

Coach, umpire and players must have 2017 Netball Victoria membership before they take the
court for first time
Clubs must also provide the following:

Match ball

Position bibs
Matches










No restriction on player rotations
One entry per Club
All players in team must wear the same uniform. Players must be in dress or shirt and skirt
Umpires in white polo top and black or blue ¾ pants/shorts
Games commence at 7pm sharp
Games shall consist of 4 x 15 minute quarters, centrally timed. Quarters may be adjusted on
the night due to weather conditions eg excessive heat
All intervals 5 minutes
All games will be played under the rules and regulations of Netball Victoria
The Association will not be responsible for any injuries incurred on the day
No injury time, however umpires will allow time for an injured player to be replaced

CLUB Court Official

Club Court Officials will be responsible for the running of the competition each evening with the
following tasks:
 Prior to game ensure goal post padding in place on appropriate courts
 After game ensure goal post padding removed and stored correctly
 Timekeeping – central timer
WNA Committee contribution

Venue with lights if required

Administer competition including Fixture and Club Court official fixture

Refreshments and food available at canteen

Change room & toilets available
UMPIRE MENTORING/TRAINING
To further the development and standard of umpiring within the region over the 5 week Club Pre
Season Wangaratta Netball Association and Ovens & King Football Netball League have arranged for
Umpire Mentors to be available at each court weekly to provide feedback/mentoring for all Club
umpires participating.

Club umpires will not be rostered to umpire their own team

Interval time will allow the Umpire Mentors the opportunity to provide feedback

This is a golden opportunity for all umpires to improve their skills without any cost
As part of the Wangaratta Netball Association Umpire Pathway program we will also use the
opportunity to progress some of our junior and senior umpires to the next step of open competition with
a mentor present.
The Club Pre Season is an ideal concept to allow this to occur for junior umpires without the pressure
of competition. On completing this Pathway program they should be ready to progress to our
Wednesday competition for further training and development

Club personnel are welcome to join our Umpire Pathway program at any time

