The venue is not suitable for physical fitness classes. Availability The venue is available for hire between the 9:00am and 9:30pm. After hours emergencies Council’s after hours’ service can be used to report emergencies (e.g. unable to gain access or to secure the facility, required equipment not working, broken glass panel or similar). Council will endeavour to resolve any issues however some issues may not be able to be rectified immediately. Call out charges will apply if they relate to the misuse of the facility or hirer error. For example, a hirer may be charged a call out fee if council is required to open a facility because the hirer omitted to pick up the key. This fee will be deducted from the bond prior to releasing the balance to the hirer. Minor issues such broken crockery can be reported the following business day. Page 1 of 3 July 17 Facility Inspections /orientations Council provides prospective hirers with a complimentary inspection prior to booking to ensure the venue is suitable. Prospective hirers wanting to undertake additional inspections may only do so when other inspections are being conducted. Inspections are conducted between 8.30am and 4.30pm business days and are subject to the facility being available. Storage Hirers are unable to store equipment at the facility. Amenities There are two shared unisex disabled toilet facilities located off the main foyer. Air conditioning The meeting room and breakout area are air conditioned. The remote controls are located on the wall near the entry doors. Lighting The lighting throughout the building is linked to a sensor system and will turn on and off automatically. Noise Please keep noise to a minimum as the facility is located close to residential properties. Please ensure guests leave the venue quickly and quietly. Smoking area In accordance with state legislation, no smoking is permitted in or around the facility. Smokers must ensure they are a minimum of five metres from any entranceway. Cleaning All areas must be left in a clean and tidy state. All benches are to be cleaned and all crockery and cutlery must be washed and returned to the allocated cupboard space. Tables and chairs must be cleaned prior to being stacked neatly in the designated areas. Care is to be taken to ensure tables, chairs and any other items are not dragged across the floor. All rubbish is to be placed in the wheelie bins provided. Wheelie bins are located in the rear courtyard and additional bin liners are stored in the kitchen cupboard. Audio visual equipment The meeting room is fitted with an audio visual system including a permanently fixed projector. A HDMI and VGA Cable are supplied. Please ensure that you bring any additional requirements with you. The card reader is located on the right hand side of the main door. At times, the facility and this door will be unlocked as other groups use other parts of the facility. Access to the Volunteer Hub meeting room is via a security swipe card system. The security access card is issued once the booking has been paid and confirmed. Groups who book the facility on a regular basis may be provided with a permanent security swipe card and key. For casual hirers the access card must be collected from council’s Redcliffe Customer Service Centre, 1 Irene Street, between 8:30am and 5:00pm business days. The card is to be returned on the business day following conclusion of the hire of the facility. Instructions for use are as follows: The light will be red when the door is locked. Swipe the card once in front of the card reader and the light will then turn green. This indicates that the door is unlocked. To secure the area after your event, close the door behind you once all guests have left the venue. Slowly swipe the card in front of the card reader three (3) times. On the second swipe the system will beep twice. After approximately 5 to 30 seconds, the reader will beep and the light will turn red to indicate the door is locked. To access the meeting room swipe your card once and the door will unlock, when leaving the room simply close the door behind you and it will self-lock. Page 3 of 3 July 17
