online at ohdi.org.
9. Tournament Appraisers
 Each team MUST provide a tournament Appraiser.
 Please discuss with your Appraiser that he/she will be assigned responsibilities for the entire
day at the Region 12 Tournament on March 11th, AND is required to attend a ½ day of training
at Sinclair Community College the morning of February 25th.
 To ensure consistent scoring throughout the competition day, Appraiser positions may not be
shared nor will the Appraisers be able to leave the competition before their Challenge is over.
 If the original Appraiser cancels for any reason, the Team Manager must provide another
Appraiser as we do not have a pool of Appraisers to replace them.
 A $25.00 penalty will be assessed for any team that is not represented at the March 11th Region
12 Tournament by a trained Appraiser.
 Also, due to scheduling complications, Appraisers will not be able to watch the team they are
representing perform in competition. Please make sure your Appraiser understands that.
10. Tournament Volunteers
 Each team MUST provide a tournament Volunteer.
 Please discuss with your Volunteer that he/she will be assigned responsibilities for up to 4
hours at the Region 12 Tournament on March 11th.
 If the original Volunteer cancels for any reason, the Team Manager must provide another

 Schedules will be arranged to allow Volunteers to see their children perform.
11. Tournament Schedules

two weeks before the tournament.
 If you are managing more than one team, please identify this in the Schedule Conflict

12. Rising Stars! Teams
 Rising Stars! Teams are required to have an active/paid membership to participate in a
Destination Imagination Tournament.
o Please see the DI website at destinationimagination.org or idodi.org for more information.
o Our goal in Region 12 is for the Rising Stars! Teams to model their solutions as much as
possible to the regular competition. Therefore, we ask that the Rising Stars! Teams have
no more than 7 team members.
 At our Region 12 Tournament. Rising Stars! Teams will also participate in an Instant Challenge
just as the competitive teams do.
13. Interference: A Word of Caution
 Destination Imagination rules state that only TEAM MEMBERS may contribute to the ideas and
create the team’s solution to its Challenge.
 We ask that you please read the Rules of the Road where Interference is discussed and make
sure your team members and your parents fully understand exactly what constitutes
Interference.
The Region 12 Board of Directors looks forward to another exciting year of DI and hope yours is very
successful. Please contact me if you have any questions.
