Times may be subject to change – Please contact the centre Family Visiting Service – Exeter children’s centre has a team of family visitors who are trained to support families in their own homes. This service is available to all families with children under 5 years of age. Please contact the centre for more information. Big Cook & Little Cook Cook together with children and other families in a warm welcoming environment and Experience other healthy lifestyle choices. The later part of the session is an opportunity to stay for lunch and eat the food that you have prepared together so we recommend you arrive before 11am if you wish to cook. With Jayne and Sandra. Book appointments through your own midwife. We offer a range of free training and on site crèche facilities for parents. The courses range from 4 – 12 weeks and are an easy introduction back into learning, which include employability skills and tour of the ‘new’ Tresham campus. We also link with Job Centre Plus and family learning to ensure a range of support is available. We have the facility to offer short term, free childcare places for families in crisis, where mums who have post natal depression, where children have additional needs or where the places would greatly benefit their family. Please ask staff for more details. The parenting group, with Jenny and Linda, is intended for parents and carers who want to know more about sensitive and effective parenting. It aims to develop a framework of thinking about parent/child relationships which can be developed into a life long skill. Support for all aged children, focusing on giving your child the best start with their communication and language skills, run by our qualified speech therapist, Rachel. Drop in session for all the family, with Michelle, our CAB advisor. Activities suitable for children under 5. A peer support group, with Lesley, for parents with children who have additional needs (behavioural, emotional, physical, language etc), younger children welcome. A fun language session for children where English is a second language and attend Exeter Primary School. Ask your teacher for details. A 6 week course is delivered by Jenny and Carol Copeland, in partnership with NCC Children & Young People Services and is designed to enable young people (13-19) to experience the reality of life decisions reflecting to parenthood. Topics include: How to look after your baby, First Aid, STD’s and society views. A group for young families (under 25yrs) focussing on arts, crafts and personal development. With Jenny. We also offer a number of groups and activities at other locations within our reach area. Please come into the centre and pick up our outreach timetable.
