The 9th Asian Junior Wushu Championships Rules & Regulations Gumi City, Korea September 14th – 21th, 2017 -1- A. DATE AND PLACE The 9th Asian Junior Wushu Championships will be held from September 14th – 21th, 2017 in Gumi City, Korea. B. VENUES Competition venue : Park Jung-Hee Stadium Training venue : Park Jung-Hee Stadium C. COMPETITION EVENTS 1. Taolu Events Group A : 3rd Set of International Competition Routine – Changquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu, Taijiquan, Taijijian, Nanquan, Nandao, Nangun, Duilian. Group B : 1st Set of International Competition Taolu – Changquan, Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu. International Compulsory Routine – Nanquan, Nandao, Nangun, 42 Forms Taijiquan, 42 Forms Taijijian. Group C : No. 3 Elementary Routine – Changquan. Elementary Routine – Daoshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu. 2. Taolu Group Event 3. Sanda Events Male : 48 KG, 52 KG, 56 KG, 60 KG, 65 KG, 70 KG, 75 KG, 80 KG. Female : 48 KG, 52 KG, 56 KG, 60 KG. D. QUALIFICATIONS 1. All official and provisional WFA Member Federations/ Associations are qualified to participate in the Championships. 2. Only those Federations/ Associations which have paid their WFA annual membership fees for 2016 and 2017 will be permitted to participate in the Championships. 3. New WFA member federations may be invited to take part in the Championships after their applications have been accepted by the WFA. -2- E. ENTRY REQUIREMENT 1. Taolu a. All members under the WFA are eligible to participate in the championships. b. Each team shall be composed by maximum 18 members including: 1 Team Manager, 2 Coaches, 1 Doctor, and the athletes under the following requirement: Group A: 6 athletes (3 males and 3 females, born between January 1st, 1999 - December 31st, 2001), Group A athletes may enter for a maximum of 5 events (1 bare hand routine, 1 short weapon, 1 long weapon, 1 duilian (dual event) and 1 group event); Group B: 4 athletes (2 males and 2 females, born between January 1st, 2002 - December 31st, 2004), Group B athletes enter participate for maximum of 4 events (1 bare hand routine, 1 short weapon, 1 long weapon, and group event); Group C: 4 athletes (2 males and 2 females, born between January 1st, 2005- December 31st, 2010), Group C athletes may enter for maximum of 3 events (1 bare hand routine, 1 weapon (choose between short weapon and long weapon) and group event). c. Group Event: Shall be composed by no less than 6 athletes, with no restriction on the competition events and age (it can be a combination of male and female athletes from either Group A, B, C). It can be performed with music (time limitation is 2~3 minutes), but without lyrics. d. Athletes are required to submit a health certificate issued within a period of 60 days prior to the competition (including electrocardiogram, pulse and blood pressure) and a valid life insurance certificate. 2. Sanda a. All members under the WFA are eligible to participate in the championships. b. Each team shall be composed by maximum 12 members including: 1 Team Manager, 2 Coaches, 1 Doctor, 8 Athletes (5 males and 3 females, born between January 1st, 1999 December 31st, 2001). c. Each team may sign-up only one athlete for each weight category. And each athlete is allowed to apply for only one weight category. -3- d. Athletes are required to submit a health certificate issued within a period of 30 days prior to the competition (including electrocardiogram, pulse and blood pressure) and a valid life insurance certificate. F. COMPETITION METHOD 1. Taolu a. The competition shall be an individual competition. b. The competition will be conducted in accordance with the “IWUF Rules for International Wushu Taolu Competition”. c. Time limit: 42 Forms Taijiquan: 5-6 minutes; 42 Forms Taijijian, 3rd Set of Competition Taijiquan and Taijijian Routines 3-4 minutes. There is no requirement for other events. 2. Sanda a. The competition shall be an individual competition. b. The knock out system will be adopted during the competition. If the number of athletes is less than 3 (include the 3rd person), a single round-robin will be adopted. c. The competition will be conducted in accordance with the “IWUF Rules for International Wushu Sanda Competition” (rules adopted before the 6th World Junior Wushu Championships). G. COSTUMES & EQUIPMENTS 1. Taolu a. Athletes must wear costumes in compliance with the rules under Wushu Taolu during the competitions. b. All the equipment to be used in the event shall meet the requirement of the rules. c. Athletes must prepare their own costumes and equipment for the competition in accordance with the rules. -4- 2. Sanda a. Athletes must wear the costumes and protective gears in compliance with the rules during the competition. b. Athletes must prepare their own two (2) sets of costumes, one set of red and one set of blue. c. Athletes must prepare their own mouth guard, jockstrap and bandage. Gloves and protective equipment will be provided by the Organizing Committee. H. PLACING & AWARDS 1. Taolu: the top 8 athletes of each event for male and female will be awarded. 1stplace : Gold medal and Certificate of Merit 2nd place : Silver medal and Certificate of Merit 3rdplace : Bronze medal and Certificate of Merit 4th to 8thplace : Certificates of Merit 2. Sanda: the top 3 athletes of each weight category for male and female will be awarded. I. 1stplace : Gold medal and Certificate of Merit 2nd place : Silver medal and Certificate of Merit 3rd place (Juxtaposition) : Bronze medal and Certificate of Merit ENTRIES 1. Preliminary Entries The preliminary entry forms must state the exact number of competitors taking part in the events. The preliminary entry forms must reach the Organizing Committee and the WFA Secretariat no later than 24:00 (Korea time) July 17th, 2017. Final Entry All final entries must be submitted through the Online Registration System and sent by e-mail, post or facsimile to the below the above addresses. All sections of the online entry must be completed in full, including the uploading of the various required documents. Moreover, the final entry forms must be printed in either Chinese or English version, all sections must be completed in full, shall be signed by either the President or Secretary-General of the Federation and at last stamp it with the federation seal. The deadline for the final entry to be completed is 24:00 (Korea time) on August 17th, 2017. Each team is required to print a copy of the submitted entry and present it upon arrival and registration. 3. Late entries or changes are subject to the approval of the WFA with written document and if accepted are subject to a late-entry fee of US$100 per participant or per changes. No changes will be accepted after 24:00 (Korea time) on September 15th, 2017. J. ARRIVAL & REGISTRATION 1. All judges are required to arrive and register at the designated registration booth on September 14th, 2017. -6- 2. All participating teams are required to arrive at the designated registration booth and register with the 9th Asian Junior Wushu Championships Organizing Committee on September 15th, 2017. 3. Upon arrival, all teams are required to: a. Pay the relevant participation fees in full. b. Submit all the required documents. K. TECHNICAL OFFICIALS 1. The Organizing Committee of the 9th Asian Junior Wushu Championships shall be responsible for organizing the championships under the guidance of the WFA Executive Committee and Technical Committee. 2. Each participating team may send one Taolu and one Sanda International Grade Judge. The International Grade Judge must present their valid license issued by IWUF for registration. 3. The Jury members and technical officials will be invited after deliberation between the Organizing Committee and the WFA. L. TECHNICAL MEETING 1. The technical meeting for team manager and coaches will take place at 09:00 a.m. of September 16th, 2017. Matters of the competition will be discussed during the meeting. Each participating team may send 2 representatives for Taolu and Sanda, respectively. M. DRAW-LOTS CEREMONY 1. The draw-lots ceremony hosted by the WFA Technical Committee will take place at 10:00 a.m. of September 16th, 2017. Each team may send their 2 representatives for Taolu and Sanda, respectively. The WFA Technical Committee will draw on behalf of the teams that are unable to send their representatives. N. WEIGHT-IN 1. Weight-in will take place at 07:00 a.m. of September 16th, 2017. -7- O. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS 1. All participants (Athletes, Team Judges and Observers) The international airfare and related travel expenses, as well as accommodation fees of all participants shall be borne by the teams themselves. The fees are as follow: Fees for athletes and judges: - Double room: US$85 per person per night - Single room: US$100 per person per night Fees for observers: - Double room: US$90 per person per night - Single room: US$100 per person per night Remarks: The above fees include meals, accommodation, local transportation between hotel and competition/ training venue and pick-up/ drop-off to and from Incheon Airport and Gumi City. The participating teams shall pay their outstanding fee in full to the Organizing Committee of the 9th Asian Junior Wushu Championships upon arrival and registration. a. The Organizing Committee will arrange the accommodation and transportation for participating teams from September 14th to 21th, 2017. If any teams arriving earlier or departing later than the required date, they should inform the Organizing Committee to arrange their accommodation before August 17th, 2017, related costs shall be borne by the team themselves. b. The WFA and the Organizing Committee request that all participating teams lodge at the designated hotels arranged. Those teams who wish to stay at another hotel/ location, due to special requirements, is required to pay a participation fee of US$100 per person. These participants are responsible for their own transportation and all other aspect of their accommodation at their own expenses and shall accept responsibility for consequences arising as a result of this. 2. Payment method In order to secure the accommodation, participating teams are requested to pay 50% of the total fees by international bank transfer simultaneously with the preliminary entry submission. The -8- remaining 50% balance must be paid by international bank transfer simultaneously with the final entry submission. Teams that are unable to pay by international bank transfer must inform both WFA Secretariat and the Organizing Committee in advance and must pay the relevant fees in total to the Organizing Committee upon arrival in Korea. If the participating teams do not comply with the deadline, the accommodation will not be guaranteed. The teams will be solely responsible for the consequences that may occur. OTHER MATTERS 1. Each team shall strictly abide by the rules and regulations of the competition and compete fairly. 2. Those that violate the rules and regulations shall be dealt with in accordance to the WFA Rules. 3. Each team is required to bring the following: a. 3 pieces of national flags or regional flags or federation flags (1m x 2m); b. National anthem or federation song in CD form; c. 3 passport size coloured photos per team member; d. Health Certificates of Taolu and Sanda athletes, life insurance certificate, and Waiver of Liabilities for each participant; e.
