Fall Pilot – JTT Section Championships
I.
For all divisions
a. Players must be USTA members to participate
b. Players must be signed up on TennisLink
c. Players must meet age eligibility requirements for their age group (must be eligible through the cutoff date specified)
d. Players must play in at least 3 regular season dual matches to be eligible for the section
championships
II.
Intermediate (12’s, 14’s, 18’s) and Beginner (14’s and 18’s) – definitions of Intermediate and Beginner
are the same as they always have been.
a. Intermediate players may not be champ or superchamp qualified on the date that the season begins
(each area league coordinator should determine and publish that start date for their league)
b. Beginner players must NEVER have had 8 or more ZAT points or have been qualified for champs or
supers (in their current or any previous age division)
c. Teams are co-ed – teams may be comprised of boys or girls or any combination of boys and girls. All
matches are gender neutral.
d. Minimum of 4 players per team. Team must have at least 4 players present to compete at sectionals.
e. Recommend no more than 8 players per team.
f. Each match consists of 4 singles (in order of strength) and 2 doubles (in order of strength)
g. Players may play a maximum of one singles and one doubles per dual match
h. If a team has only 3 players, it must default line 4 singles and line 2 doubles. If a team has only 2
players, it must default line 3 & 4 singles and line 2 doubles.
i. Recommend 6 game sets no-ad with a tie break at 5-all
j. Game winning percentage determines standings in the round robin and Games won determines head
to head winner in bracket play.
k. In the event of a tie in bracket play, each team will field one doubles team to play a 7 point tie break
to determine the winner of the dual match.
III.
Advanced (B12’s,G12’s, B14’s, G14’s, B18’s, G18’s)
a. Teams are single gender.
b. Minimum of 4 players per team. Team must have at least 4 players present to compete at sectionals.
c. Recommend no more than 8 players per team.
d. Each match consists of 4 singles (in order of strength) and 2 doubles (in order of strength)
e. Players may play a maximum of one singles and one doubles per dual match
f. If a team has only 3 players, it must default line 4 singles and line 2 doubles. If a team has only 2
players, it must default line 3 & 4 singles and line 2 doubles.

10U Green Ball Intermediate
a. Players may not be champ or superchamp qualified on the date that the season begins (each area
league coordinator should determine and publish that start date for their league)
b. Teams are co-ed – teams may be comprised of boys or girls or any combination of boys and girls. All
matches are gender neutral.
c. Minimum of 4 players per team. Team must have at least 4 players present to compete at sectionals.
d. Recommend no more than 8 players per team.
e. Each match consists of 4 singles (in order of strength) and 2 doubles (in order of strength)
f. Players may play a maximum of one singles and one doubles per dual match
g. If a team has only 3 players, it must default line 4 singles and line 2 doubles. If a team has only 2
players, it must default line 3 & 4 singles and line 2 doubles.
h. Recommend 4 game sets no-ad with no tie break at 3-all. Depending on the number of matches
scheduled, the format can be adjusted to have 2 sets to 4 and a 7 point tie break in lieu of the third
set (same format as in sanctioned tournaments)
i. Game winning percentage determines standings in the round robin and Games won determines head
to head winner in bracket play.
j. In the event of a tie in bracket play, each team will field one doubles team to play a 7 point tie break
to determine the winner of the dual match.
k. Players may not be champ qualified when they begin the season in order to be eligible for this
division
l. Same age cutoff date as all other advancing divisions
