EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
1. THE REASON
Swiftdine is an application that aims to save time by fully preparing a customer’s food before
the customer even arrives at the restaurant, much like a concierge service.
Partners:
i.
Our representatives conducted a meeting with Nick Cannon (host of America’s Got
Talent), in which Cannon verbally offered his commitment in supporting Swiftdine.
ii.
Swiftdine is represented by Sally Kay, Partner of Cooley LLP.
2. THE PROBLEM
The app aims to eliminate unnecessary inefficiency that often occurs while waiting to both be
seated and served in busy restaurants. As a result, many restaurants cannot accommodate
customers with, for example, short lunch schedules or time constraints. These restaurants
subsequently struggle to maximize profits and efficiency, especially if customers fail to show up
for reservations.
3. SOLUTION
Swiftdine allows its users to place an order, select a time of completion of their food, and pay
for their food—all from their mobile devices. This allows customers to walk into their desired
restaurant and be seated with their food already prepared for them.
Using Swiftdine, customers may eat and leave at their leisure and restaurants may make
reservations more seamlessly with the ease of our app.
4. OPPORTUNITY
Swiftdine believes that its users must fulfill two, easy criteria: 1) own a mobile phone and 2) like
to eat out. The companies and restaurants that have been documented (BBRG, DineEquity,
Darden Restaurants, Cheesecake Factory, Golden Gate Capital, Brinker International, Sentinel
Capital Partners, BWW, Red Robin, Ruby Tuesday), collectively host over two billion guests
annually. With Swiftdine’s model, restaurants are charged $1 per guest associated with each
reservation.
5. COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
Swiftdine’s closest competitor is OpenTable, an app that books reservations and tables for
customers at particular times. Swiftdine’s competitive advantage allows the customer to both
order and pay for food on top of simply booking a table. This advantage allows customers to
control the length of their dining experiences.
6. THE MODEL
Swiftdine’s revenue model is very simple: we do not collect money from restaurants without
giving them something in return. Restaurants are charged $1 for every guest on each
reservation that uses our app to dine. We will also give restaurants the option to advertise on
Swiftdine. They could use this feature to compete for the most highly-searched spot, much like
Google.
7. THE TEAM
The technical development team working on the Swiftdine app is called Gigster, based out of
San Francisco. Gigster connects freelance programmers who attended top-tier schools like
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, California Institute of Technology and Stanford, and
worked at preeminent tech companies such as Facebook, Google and Pinterest. One of the
several venture capital firms currently backing Gigster is Andreessen Horowitz, a private equity
firm founded in 2009 with a current net worth of $4,000,000,000. In September of 2009 the
firm invested $50,000,000 to obtain 2 percent of Skype’s stock, making a $120,000,000 profit
after Skype was sold to Microsoft in 2011. Swiftdine’s legal representation, Cooley LLP, also
represents the likes of Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, and Tesla Motors.
8. PROMISE
Our revenue is driven by app usage and advertisement—the more users we have
the more money we make. With just 2,860,549 uses in the first year, Swiftdine could make
$1,858,093 in profit. The projected numbers for the first five years are displayed above.
9. ASK
All of our capital will be put to Swiftdine’s best, possible use. We hope to use profits to help aid
in requisite expansions. We ask that interested parties invest no less than $10,000. Swiftdine
seeks to raise anywhere between $500,000-$750,000 by the end of 2017, capital that will be
used for employee, contract and consultant payrolls as well as
product development (i.e. iOS, Android, etc..). Seed funding will also go towards office
necessities, servers, travel and legal expenses.
