CIRCULAR WALK ONE
Outside the pub, turn right along Missenden road,
then turn right at the SPAR shop into Hatches Lane.
After passing Hatches Farm, walk 400 metres until
you see a driveway on the right. The public footpath
is on this driveway until you reach the gates, when
the footpath cuts to the left of the private land. You
are now in Hatches Wood, which then becomes
Man's Leg Wood. After a while, keep to the path on
the right to go through Longfield Wood.
Coming out onto Perks Lane, turn right up the road
towards Peterley corner. Take care crossing the
road here and go straight across. After about 200
metres, turn right through the Crook Wood (the
footpath sign is on the left on the road).
After a few hundred metres, you will come to a
crossroad of paths – take the right-hand one that will
soon have you walking across open fields at the back
of Ninneywood Farm. Continue past the pond across
another field and you will come out at the end of
Lowlands Crescent, a cul-de-sac. Turn left here to the
end of the cul-de-sac. When you come to the main
road (again, take care!) and turn left along Stag
Lane. At the first right, cross the road and you will
come up onto Great Kingshill Common. The Red Lion
is now straight ahead of you – so go in and enjoy
some food and a drink!
