Formatting a Picture in Word 2010 The Wrap Text button controls the placement of your image in relation to the text in your document. Highlight your image by clicking on it. The Picture Tools Format ribbon will become active. Now click on the Format button. Then Click on Wrap Text and select different types to see the effect. The In Line With Text Option is the normal way text wraps around an image meaning ‘no wrap’. The image is treated like a character in line with other text in the document. This style insets the graphic in the text at the location of the insertion point. The image moves as you add or delete text. The text does not wrap around the image leaving white space on either side of the image. In Line images have minimal manoeuvrability. After inserting the image, select the picture and then use either the Alignment or Indent buttons on the formatting toolbar to move the image. The Square style wraps the text The graphic moves as you add or around all sides of a square bounding the graphic. delete text. The Behind Text Style makes the image float behind text on its own layer. Behind your text, the image appears as part of the paper with text printed over it. In this mode the image can be moved freely on the page. The In Front of Text Style makes the image float in front of text. The image floats on its own layer in front of the text just like a photograph. In this mode the image can be moved freely anywhere on the page.
