Players Code of Conduct
The purpose of this document is to make sure that all players participating in the Crossover Basketball Club program are made
aware of our expectations for them. Each player must sign this Code of Conduct. Failure to observe the Player Code of Conduct
could result in your forfeiture of tournament participation as well as your continued participation in the program.
I hereby pledge to follow the Crossover Basketball Club Player Code of Conduct.
1. I will not use drugs, tobacco products or alcohol. I understand that Crossover Basketball maintains a no tolerance policy
for student-athletes and the use of these items is grounds for immediate dismissal from the program.
2. I shall play by the rules and demonstrate good sportsmanship.
3. I shall control my temper. I will be respectful to my coaches and will not verbally or physically abuse other players,
coaches, parents or officials. I will treat others, the way I want to be treated.
4. I will not use profanity or derogatory language.
5. I will not steal from my teammates, coaches, or others.
6. I will do my best to attend and be on time for practice and games, and will notify my coach if I cannot attend practice or
games. I also realize if I do not notify the coach it could result into limited playing time.
7. I recognize the importance of academics, and will maintain a 2.5 GPA to keep a balance between athletics and
academics.
8. I agree not to play on any other AAU/Travel team outside of the Crossover Basketball organization that is in direct
conflict with practices and/or tournaments.
9. During tournaments and overnight trips:
a. I will respect and follow the rules, regulations, and curfews established by the Coaches and/or
Chaperones at all times.
b. I will not damage or destroy the property of the Hotel or facilities where we will be staying and playing.
c. I will arrive on time. I will notify the Head Coach and Chaperone immediately if I’m going to be late.
d. I will remain with at least one of my teammates or my parents at all times.
g. I will act respectfully towards other teams, players, coaches and officials.
h. I will not leave a tournament site or Hotel without previous permission from my Head Coach.
IF I FAIL TO ABIDE BY THE GIVEN CODE OF CONDUCT, I UNDERSTAND THAT THE CONSEQUENCES COULD
INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
1. Verbal warning by team Coach, and/or Director of Crossover Basketball Club
2. Player game suspension with written documentation of incident kept on file by Crossover Basketball Club
3. Dismissal from participation as members of the Crossover Basketball Club
