Unfortunately, Terry Deeth lost his singles in a tough three setter, 7-6(6), 4-6, 5-7. In the 40 Men’s Singles, Morgan Young won 1 and 0 and Jarrod Broadbent won 3 and 1. In the Women’s Doubles, Wendy Armstrong and her partner lost; Kerryn Cyprien and Linda Roberts won 2 and 1; Chris Luhrs and Michelle Townson lost 2 and 3. In the Men’s Doubles, Jarrod Broadbent and Morgan Young lost 6-2, 4-6, 8-10 (super tie break); Stuart Leslie and Jochen Knober (Germ) lost 1 and 0; Darren Blade and Terry Deeth won 0 and 0; Paul Macknamara and Andrew Schuelke lost 6-3, 3-6, 9-11 (super tie break); and Andrew Tavella and Russell Schluter (RSA) won 6-2, 6-7(5), 11-9 (super tie break) Of interest was the progress of Jurate Hardy in the Women’s 45 Singles. Jurate, a former Australian representative who now plays for Lithuania, won the 2012 World Championships and won today to remain in the draw at number 2 seed.
