Christmas Money Box Guide - Children Change Colombia

Christmas Money Box
Supplies:
- Template
- Card stock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Craft knife
- Double-Sided Tape
- Decorative String
Instructions:
1. Print the template and start by cutting on the solid lines. Using a craft knife, cut out a horizontal
opening on one side of the roof. If you have printed on white paper, you can colour the house to
make it festive.
2. Fold on the dotted lines, starting with the bottom of the house. Then fold over the roof of the
house. Next fold over the tab that’s at the end of the house as well as the dotted lines that are in
between. Lastly, fold over the two tabs on top of the roof.
3. Tape the first tab of the house. Take the next tab, fold it over and press it in place. Place another
piece of tape on that tab, then fold over the next one and press in place. For the last one, place a
piece of tape on the front of the tab and fold it too. Place a piece of tape on the side tab of the
house and on the roof and close up the house.
4. If you want to make it extra special, take some string, place it under the house and tie a bow. You
can also print the Children Change Colombia logo and decorate the house with it.
Christmas post money box
Supplies:
- An empty Bisto grave tub/ or similar size tub (As they are cardboard be careful not to get them too
wet when cleaning them inside. Use a slightly damp sponge/cloth or wet wipe).
- Red card
- White paper
- Scissors
- Craft knife
- A pencil, black biro pen, white pen/pencil and a marker pen
- PVA glue and glue stick
Instructions:
1. Mark on you red card the width and height of the tub. Then cut out using scissors.
2. Draw the letter box opening onto the card and cut out opening. Then wrap the card around the
tub again and mark out the opening onto that.
3. Using a craft knife cut out the letter box opening. Tip: If you do not have a craft knife or would
prefer not to cut an opening, still draw the small rectangle. Instead of cutting the rectangle out
though, colour it in black with a marker pen. Just remove the lid when you want to put money in or
out.
4. Draw post box details onto the red card. Use a small rectangle of white paper for the post box
collection time details. Write on and then stick the paper onto the red card using a glue stick. As it’s
difficult to write that small you may just want to doodle instead of writing word for word.
5. Glue the finished card onto the tub using PVA glue, matching up the letterbox openings.
6. Place the lid on top and start collecting donations!
