AUBURN VALLEY YMCA

CARDIO BLAST (Ages 5 - 11)
Our experienced YMCA staff will use creative and fun
games and activities to get your child moving! It’s a great
way to meet new friends, play games and learn the YMCA
core values. This drop-in class is included in your Family
Membership and requires 10 kids to run. Sign in and out
of Adventure Zone.
Monday & Wednesday 7:00 - 8:00 pm
CHILD WATCH
A safe, engaging environment for our youngest members
(ages 6 weeks to 5 years). Loving care is provided by
trained, qualified YMCA staff while you work out. Child
Watch is included with a Family Membership and comes
with a maximum of 2 hours of care per session.
Daily drop-in rate for non-members is $5

ADVENTURE ZONE
In this fun-filled room, children ages 5 - 11 can read,
play, climb and explore to their heart’s content! Children
will be supervised by trained and experienced YMCA staff.
Children must be potty-trained to enter the room.
Adventure Zone is included with a Family Membership and
comes with a maximum of 2 hours of care per session.
CREATIVE MOVEMENT
Creative Movement is an organized play group for young
children and the people who take care of them. During
class, young children and their caregivers participate in
fun and creative activities. This drop-in class is included
in your Family Membership and meets in the Reflection
Room.

FUTURE CHEFS
Kids ages 6 - 11 will have a blast learning fundamental
kitchen skills, age-appropriate cooking techniques,
kitchen safety, and important nutrition facts. Each class
will meet in the Kitchen.

PARENTS NIGHT OUT
You can’t beat $4/hour for childcare!! Bring the kids
to the Y for an evening of fun during Parents Night Out!
Held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from
5:00 - 10:00 pm, kids age 3 - 11 will enjoy a variety of
activities including but not limited to: themed activities,
swimming, gym games, Adventure Zone, arts and crafts, a
movie and dinner. Children must be potty-trained. Must
prepre-register no later than 24 hours before event.
Refunds will not be given for cancellations less than 24
hours notice. Minimum of 10 needed to run program.

CHILDREN’S BALLET
Ballet is an exciting dance for young children because it
teaches skills that are concrete and allow for repetition.
Our classes balance ballet with creative movement,
teaching children skills while also allowing them
opportunities for self expression.
PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
NEW SESSION!
As a bi-lingual preschool for children ages 3 to 5 years,
the Auburn Valley Y provides a supportive and
nurturing place for children to learn, grow, have fun,
and gain skills to succeed in elementary school. Field
trips and swimming will be new this year for our 3 day
a week sessions. Class times: 10:00a - 12:30p

For each class, parents will be asked to wait outside of
the Reflection Room, but will be invited back to view the
class on the last day of the session. Specific ballet
clothing is optional; dress comfortably. A new session is
offered each month and will take place on Saturdays.
PEPS (Program for Early Parent Support)
Meet, learn, and share with other new parents in a 12
week session facilitated by a trained leader. Parents
and babies (0-6 months) attend together, and each
meeting includes time for sharing parenting highs and
lows, time to focus on babies’ development, and a
parenting topic discussion.

BEGINNER KARATE PROGRAM (ages 7+)
Diverse styles of Karate are taught throughout the
world. The style that is taught in this school is
Shito-Ryu and Shindo Jinen-Ryu. Due to the
popularity of this program, new students are only
accepted each quarter in the Beginning Level class.
Senseis RJ Quero and Susie Burd teach Beginning Level.
WINTER BASKETBALL LEAGUE 2015-2016
The Auburn Valley Y youth basketball program is open to
boys and girls ages 5 - 10. In addition to learning the
fundamentals of the game through practices and game
play, children will learn valuable life skills including teamwork, sportsmanship, and self-confidence.
PRE--REGISTER with Member Services prior to

each quarter.
Children will be divided into teams and have a weekly
practice, running during the hours of 5:00 - 8:30pm on a
week night (dependent on your own schedule and the
team you are placed on). Specific times will be announced,
as volunteer coaches will choose their practice times.
Practices will be at local school gymnasiums or the Y and
games will be held at the Y. All players will receive
a t-shirt and certificate.

YOUTH BASKETBALL CLINICS
This youth basketball clinic is for boys and girls ages
5 - 12. The purpose of this program will be to enhance
players basic basketball skills through shooting,
dribbling, foot work, and passing. Players and coaches
will work in small groups as well as in an individual group
setting.

SPOOKY SLEEPOVER (Ages 5 - 14)
Gooey snacks and ghoul-tastic games and activities are
just a few of the things you can expect during our Spooky
Sleepover. Ghouls and goblins, ages 5 - 14, will
experience a variety of activities including but not limited
to: swimming, gym games, Adventure Zone, make and
take crafts, and movies.

FAMILY HOLIDAY EVENT
Join the holiday fun as we make festive crafts in
Santa’s Workshop and enjoy goodies in the Kitchen.
Santa will also be stopping by for a visit so bring your
cameras and wish lists! This event is FREE and is open
to everyone!

NO SCHOOL DAY CAMP
On the days that Auburn School District is not in session,
the Auburn Valley Y offers a full-day, fun-filled camp to
keep your child active, engaged, and having FUN! Camp is
for students in grades K - 5 and provide an array of age
appropriate activities. Each day is theme based and may
incorporate a field trip as part of the day’s activity.

CELEBRATE WITH US!
AUBURN VALLEY YMCA
Birthdays are a big deal at the Y and that’s why we want you to celebrate yours with us! With a
variety of party options there is something fun for everyone. All of our birthday parties are 90
minutes in length*, include party invitations, a T-shirt for the birthday child., and basic
decorations. Our Party Hosts provide both parents and party goers with carefree support and
leadership while you and your guests (up to 14 kids**)
ZANY ZONE PARTY
Your child and 14 friends* will enjoy a fun-filled party full of
climbing, sliding, and tumbling in our giant indoor play
structure. The party guests will enjoy time playing in the
Adventure Zone as well as time spent in the party room.
Recommended for ages 3 -10 years old.

GYM PARTY
Your child and up to 14 friends* will enjoy half of the gym for
their choice of dodgeball, basketball or just hanging out! The
party guests will enjoy gym time as well as time in the party
room. Our staff will also be able to lead organized games, if
requested. Recommended for age 6 - 17.
