Managing Delivery zones and Charges (CMS v2.343) The CMS is capable of charging different delivery costs based upon delivery country, the UK postcode and the weight of the order including giving different options for delivery to your customer on checkout (for example Standard delivery 3-5 days vs Next day delivery). Within your CMS will be a Delivery Tab Under which will be the option for Delivery Zones. This view will show you all the current delivery zones you have. A delivery zone is simply a group of countries and can be named whatever you feel best describes the group and is not viewable by your customers on the front end. When you view your CMS you should have a default delivery zone set up by us, this will normally be for the United Kingdom. When editing this view you will be able to change the title, add more countries from the ‘Add new countries drop down’ (which is based upon a set of world countries) and set a minimum price. The Minimum price for free delivery allows you to set a global price that if the customer spends at least this much (After discounts) then there is no delivery cost or options for delivery shown, if you wish for there to be no Free delivery minimum please leave this at 0.00. Weight Bands Each delivery zone must contain at least one weight band, a weight band essentially sets that if a weight full between the minimum weight and the maximum weight then delivery is allowed at the set price, if the delivery weight bands are missing or the weight of an order does not fit between the minimum weight and the maximum weight then the customer will see an error message on checkout informing them that delivery is unavailable to their country and to contact you. In the example above the first is standard delivery with a minimum weight of 0.00 and a maximum weight of 9999.99 and has a price of £0.00 – This means that anything can be purchased on the site and delivery for free no matter the weight. In This example we can see with these two weight bands one is set to offer the customer ‘UK Carrier (£150 insurance) if there country is United Kingdom, and the combined weight is between 0 and 30kg in which case they will be charged £10.00 (Last column), alternatively they have set up a collection option allowing their customer to come and get the item whatever the weight for free. Is it possible that your delivery has been setup with customer variables such as the item must full between a certain weight and a certain price band. Or if you offer different delivery to your retail customers then to your wholesale customers who might receive a discount or have to order a certain amount before being able to checkout. Postcode surcharges You can also add another layer of charges over your United kingdom delivery zone, we are aware that the Royal Mail and other couriers apply their own surcharges to certain areas of the UK such as Northern Ireland, The highlands and a selection of the surrounding islands. You can find Postcode surcharges under the CMS delivery tab From here you can provide a list of the standard postcodes for you and allow you to add your own surcharge, Postcode surcharges are set against the first 2-4 letters of a postcode such as AB30 – AB31 and we allow you to ether set an additional shipping surcharge (which will appear in the breakdown in the customer’s order) or prevent the customer from ordering to have items to this address at all.
