If your club does not have access to goal posts please contact Allana Dickie ASAP to arrange some at your club. Team numbers: 18 aside with the even up rule, Must have a minimum of 12 of their own registered players to be considered official match, In the event that a team doesn’t have 12 of their own registered players, it is important that they play a ‘scratch match’ instead to assist with the retention of existing girls. The game will be considered a loss against the team without sufficient numbers their score will not count. To ensure maximum participation in the Spirit of the Game if numbers of players are such that a team does not have the same number of players as the opposition, the opposition must play with the same number of players and loan players to the other team as part of the ‘Even Up’ Rule During Finals the ‘Even Up’ Rule doesn’t not apply Uniforms and Equipment No Jewellery is to be worn, including metal hair clips such as bobby pins (Excluding medical bracelets). Players caught wearing prohibited equipment should receive a yellow card. It is strongly recommended that all Youth Girls wear a mouthguard that can be purchased through Safeguard mouthguards. Footballs must be size 4 for all games (2x Match Balls provided by WAFC) Tackling: Tackling is permitted, as per Laws of Australian Football, however: no player shall be deliberately slung, dumped or thrown to the ground via any tackle a free kick will be paid for such offence. Order off rule: As per 2016 Junior Club Manual, to be applied at the umpires discretion (or the controlling body where applicable) Bad language, poor sportsmanship and disputing umpires decisions should be actively discouraged. Finals Eligibility: Youth Girls must play at least three (3) qualifying games to be eligible for finals Youth Girls players that are eligible to play both YG and WAWFL must be put on a type two permit for the season Youth Girls who play five (5) or more WAWFL games are ineligible to play Youth Girls finals Matches. Modified Match rules: Start of play and restarting after a goal when all players are in their positions a ball up is conducted between two centre players of similar height as nominated by the umpire in the centre of the ground. (note no requirement to have centre marked on the ground) Players cannot take the ball out of the ruck Players can only have up to two bounces before disposal Players cannot intentionally kick the ball off the ground On modified field penalties are forty metres – 40m advancement towards their goal after a mark or free kick the umpire is of the opinion that an opposing player hinders that player, this includes: Overstepping the mark, wasting time or using abusive language/behaviour. In the Spirit of the game there will be no scores recorded for wins greater than 60pts, this is to encourage clubs to make changes, challenge players in different positions, opposite foot etc because there is evidence to show that losing by mass margins is a huge de-motivator for players playing football and we want to retain as many players as possible in this competition. 2016 ROGERS CUP YOUTH GIRLS COMPETITION – To follow U18 Rules unless stated differently above.
