Career Info/Scholarships…
Medical Diagnostics: Grade 11 and 12 Students, if you are considering a technical career in
health care, the Saskatoon Health Region and SIEC are hosting an information only event to get
you all the pertinent details. Participants will start with a tour of related Sask Polytech
programs, followed by a presentation by the SHR outlining program requirements and hiring
procedures. The following programs will be covered: Combined Lab and X-Ray Tech;
Cytotechnologist; Medical Sonographer (ultrasound); MRI tech; Medical Lab
Assistant; Medical Lab Tech; Radiology Tech; Phlebotomist; and Nuclear Med Tech.
Applications in Student Services. Deadline: March 28.

2017 Conexus Community Youth Leadership Award: Conexus will be offering 30 - $500
Community Youth Leadership Awards across the province. The award is presented to a
graduating high school student who demonstrates co-operative spirit, community involvement,
and leadership. Our goal is to promote the benefits of being a Conexus Credit Union member
and to recognize the contributions made to their school and community. Interested applicants
can go to www.conexus.ca/aboutconexus/ourcommunity/leadershipaward to review the
eligibility guidelines and download the application. Deadline to submit applications will be
midnight on April 14, 2017. Please see Student Services for more information.
The Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists understands that youth are the future of our
industry. To support youth in achieving their career in agrology related sectors, including
agriculture, bioresources, food or the environment, the Institute’s six branches are each
awarding a scholarship of $1,000 to candidates who meet the eligibility requirements and
demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in agrology. Please see Student Services for more

to apply: May 15, 2017.
SSBA Scholarships: Each year, the Saskatchewan School Boards Association awards two
$2,500 scholarships to graduating high school students who remain in Saskatchewan in postsecondary study:Degree Program Scholarship: $2,500; Technical/Trade Program
Scholarship: $2,500. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of demonstrated good
character, community leadership, financial need, and a 500-word essay. The application
deadline is Aug. 31 each year. Please see Student Services for more information. To access the

Badminton Doubles tournament on April 6th. Two divisions to choose from: Competitive
Division (2 rackets to win), Recreation Division (one racket to be randomly drawn). Guaranteed
5 games! Any students may register to play. See posters for additional information. To register

Clubs/SRC ~
Monday: SRC Executive meeting will be in Ms. Lowenberger’s room today.
Wednesday: SRC meeting in the library classroom at 12:30.
Hat Day! Friday - Do you like wearing your hat? Of course you do!! Well, you are in luck
because Hat Day is the first Friday of every month. Pay a $1.00 in Room 111, get a stamp from
Ms. Lowenberger, and wear your hat all day.
POM – Pom is finished for the year and will resume next year.
YAC – Will meet every Thursday at lunch in the Culture Room.
Social Justice – Every Tuesday in Room 212 during the lunch break.
Smudge – Every Friday at 8:00 a.m. in the Culture Room.
Math Warriors – Need extra help with Math?? Come to the Library every Wednesday from
3:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Pick up a registration form from Ms. Carter in the Community Room. See
you there!
Language Warriors – An afterschool program for students interested in learning
conversational Cree. Every Monday & Wednesday, after school in Mr. Allen’s classroom – Room
112. Pick up a registration form from Ms. Carter in the Community Room.
CHESS CLUB – Meets on Monday in Room 113. Bring your lunch. Expert or beginner, everyone
is welcome!
Canoe Trip Meeting – Tuesday, March 28th, 2017 in Room 208 at 12:30…bring your lunch!
If you are looking for something to do during lunch, bring some friends and stop by room 209.
Games Club will be starting up again and we have lots of choices available. There are quick
10 to 15 minute games, cooperative team games, and strategy games. Feel free to bring your
lunch and check it out.

Theatre Guild/Drama
Any and all interested in student productions please come to the Theatre Monday, Wednesday
or Friday after school from 3:20 - 4:30. Two student written or adapted productions are in the
works. Both are thought provoking social drama revolving around the absence of justice.
All grades welcome. No experience required.

Talent Show – Auditions will be starting Monday, March 27th. More information outside the

as a leader Wednesdays after school! Help kids play games and learn about healthy eating and

office to book an appointment for March 22 and March 23. If you do not get into these dates
you may miss the cut off for yearbook and the composite.
TAX SEASON: Are you employed? Have you received that funny looking letter or document
called a T-4? Then we (Mr. Devon) can help you file your taxes! This is an opportunity to get
the taxes you’ve paid back into your pocket! $$$

Would students PLEASE return the dishes back to the Community Kitchen when finished.
Many dishes are being found in the Drama Room, hallways, garbage cans and classrooms.
Thank you very much for all your help with this.
GRADUATING
The Princess Shop lends dresses to female graduates in need, or just not interested in
purchasing a dress you might only where once. If this is something you might be interested in
see Mrs. Hall for more information or an application form.
SMOKING – Smoking is ONLY PERMITTED in the Designated Smoking Area at the back of the
school, behind the fence. Any student found smoking on school property will have their name
submitted to the Saskatoon Police Service who will issue a Bylaw Ticket for $125.00.
Smoke butts are being found in the outdoor play area of the daycare. Please note that
children are playing outside and should have a clean area.
