Craigieburn Eagles are pleased to announce the appointment of four quality Big V
Coaches for the 2015 Season.
The Youth League Women will again be coached by Laura Janes next season. Laura has
been an inspiring mentor to the Eagle’s program and in particular, this group have taken
huge strides forward under her wings. We believe the past two years of hard work and
dedication will continue to translate into our on court performance.
We would like to welcome back Rod Sweeny as he returns to the Nest as the Women’s
Head Coach. With over 24 years of basketball history in his pocket, ranging from Head
Coach to President, Rod’s exceptional knowledge of the game will be an advantage in
the development of the women’s program. Rod will also work with Laura to mentor the
talented junior players as they progress into the women’s roster.
The youth league men are a young side who came together in leaps and bounds during
the last season. Having contributed greatly to the team as Assistant Coach for the past
four years, as well as coaching various Representative sides, Anthony Boland will be
looking to consolidate and improve on last year’s performance as he takes on the role of
Youth League Men’s Coach. Anthony’s passion and commitment to the game is
certainly an asset to the Eagles.
Another dedicated Eagle, Dennis McNamara, has been reappointed as Men’s Head
Coach. Dennis has being involved in the Craigieburn program at all levels for many
years and is looking forward to continuing to further develop the Men’s team. Dennis’
appointment provides stability and consistency to the Men’s program and together with
Anthony, will continue to provide support and encouragement for our juniors on the
pathway into the senior program.
We warmly welcome all our Senior Coaches and look forward to supporting them as we
continue to build a strong culture throughout both senior and junior ranks and look
forward to a competitive and successful season.
