We look forward to your participation in the Joondalup Lakers Fast 5’s Hockey Competition!!! THANK YOU! Regards Joondalup Lakers Hockey Club (JLHC) Fast 5’s Hockey Tournament Rules All rules remain the same as current field hockey rules with the following exceptions. No Hitting, No Slap Hitting, No Overheads allowed. The ball may not be lifted in general play above shin pad height in the form of a jink or flick. Accidental lifting in general play may be allowed if there is no disadvantage and no danger to the opposition players/teams. The ball may be lifted at goal but only from within the scoring circle. Any lifted flick that is not on target will automatically result in a free hit to the defending team. Any ball over the base line is a defending team’s 16 (this is played in line with the top of the defensive D). The only exception is when the ball is forced over the baseline by a defending team player in order to kill the ball on purpose, where a free hit to the attacking hit will result outside the top of the D. Any direct infringement or foul play will result in a 2-minute power play where the infringing player must leave the field. The same infringement by the same player will result in a further 5-minute power play. The circle/D used are those marked by the Yellow lines (not the red ones). Any free hits gained inside the circle/D must be taken from 1 metre outside the circle/D in line with where the offense occurred. The ball cannot be played directly into the circle from a free hit taken in the attacking half as per normal rules. Intentional fouls or stopping the ball with any part of the body other than hand on stick, as the ball is travelling into the goal within the circle/D will result in a stroke from the top of the D and a 2-minute power play/sinbinning. Team Manager/Captain are responsible for their team’s player behaviour. Umpires decisions are final and any player disrespect will result in an opposition power play. Player and spectator safety is the primary concern of the umpire, if a pause or stop to play is required, players must respect this. This may occur in the case of injury, emergency, bad weather (heat or lightening), or other situations as deemed by Tournament Officials. Scores are kept by the umpires and will be recorded after each game.
