Summary:

Two ‘wheelchair friendly’ rooms
available, both non smoking.

On arrival and departure, staff can
arrange for guests to be transported
to and from the Visitor Centre and by
prearrangement can deliver a
wheelchair to the ferry.

A three wheeled, small electric
scooter (gopher) is available to be
loaned out to guests.

External access: Rustic style brick paved wide level path from the roadway to the
main entrance.
Main entrance: Level, 930mm wide swing door with a lever handle. There is sufficient
space for wheelchairs of all sizes to move through the front entrance.
Foyer: Tiles and wooden floor boards, level throughout. Ample circulation space for all
wheelchair sizes.
Lounge seating is provided in the foyer and Cocktail Bar. Cane seating is deep, with a
seat height of 400mm. Chairs have armrests.
Reception: Counter is at standing height.
Signage: All signage is clear, easy to read and in good colour contrast. There is
directional signage to all essential services within the Lodge
Accessible rooms: Rooms 1 and 2, at ground level are designated as accessible and
have the same configuration. Both rooms have two single beds.
Emergency: There are audible alarms in both rooms. Emergency egress maps are
located behind the doors and are at standing height.
Corridors to rooms:




930mm wide door from the foyer to a wide external verandah.
The door requires a pull action only and has a circular knob on the outside.
There is an external step ramp with a large landing at the door.
The door has a small rounded lip.
Accessible rooms:
Door: Door width is 800mm. The entrance swing door is has a key lock and lever handle
at sitting height. There is a large internal locking snib.
The door opens into a 1460mm wide corridor leading to the bed and sitting area.
Tea and coffee: Facilities are at sitting height within the bedroom. There is 450mm
space between the bed (moveable) and the bench.
Bedroom: Two single beds on castors. The beds are 480mm high and there is 120mm
available space under the bed to accommodate a mobile hoist. The bed is firm.
There is 1000mm space between the beds and 800mm at the end of the beds.
The room has a 760mm high desk with 720mm clear knee space and one chair without
armrests.
Bathroom:
 Door: 830mm wide swing door opens off the 1460mm wide corridor. The door has a
lever handle at sitting height with no locking snib.
 Pan height: 450mm high.
 Basin height: 820mm.
 Shower: Hand held shower and wall mounted fold down seat, 500mm high.
 Emergency call button: There is an emergency call bell adjacent to the door.
 Shelf: There is a small shelf with mirror above, located behind the door.
 Lighting and power point at sitting height.

Marlins Restaurant:
Buffet breakfast is serviced in Marlins Restaurant.

Access from the foyer is through the pool / alfresco area.

The main entrance has two internal steps up to the restaurant and buffet area.

Alternative access from the reception is through the courtyard via a 1500mm long
ramp with a gradient of 9.3 degrees (1:6) to the alfresco dining and 950mm door.

There is level access from rooms 1 and 2, to the upper restaurant area via an
820mm door and through a wide corridor. The door is heavy to push and slow to
close.

There is circulation space within the restaurant for a larger wheelchair.

Tables are moveable and have a central pedestal. Chairs have armrests.

Buffet within the gallery is at sitting and standing heights. Assistance is available.

Restaurant and alfresco seating have tables with a central pedestal, 720mm high
with 690mm knee access. Seats have armrests.

Menus are black printing on white background, with large font.

Pool:




Location: In a courtyard directly off the foyer.
Access from the foyer level to the pool level is via external steps without
handrails or an external curved ramp with a landing in the middle. The upper
section is 4m long and is 4.8 degrees (1:12 gradient) and the lower section is 3m
long and is 8.5 degrees (1:7 gradient).
At pool level there is bench seating 430mm high.
The pool is accessed via steps with no handrail.
Governors Bar: Access at both entrances is via steps.
Conference Centre: The conference Centre is across the road and is accessed via
steps from the rear of the Lodge or along the road from the front of the Lodge.
Access from the street is via a 33m long ramp with slopes up to 9.6 degrees (1:6
gradient).
