Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to the November newsletter. I have attached an extensive list of dates for your diary.
New School Building
Mrs Ogilby and I have been into our new building and we think it looks fabulous! We hope
that the rest of the staff will get into the building this week or next. I am also hoping
that children and parents/carers will be able to visit the new building in the evening of Wednesday
23rd November but this is still to be confirmed. The exceptional closure dates are still Monday, 21st
November, Tuesday, 22nd November and Wednesday, 23rd November 2016. The children’s first
day in the new building will still be Thursday, 24th November 2016.
Reporting to Parents
Thanks to all our parents/carers who attended Parents’ Evening. It is important that our
children know we work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for them. Thanks to
all of you who managed to complete a Getting It Right For Every Child questionnaire. Your
feedback is important to us as it helps us get a clear picture of what we’re doing well and where we
can still improve. I will send a summary of the results home to you soon. We were delighted with the
feedback as it shows our aim of creating a nurturing environment for our children is being successful.

School Improvement Plan
Every year the school sets a plan of how we will continue our journey of improvement. At the last
Parent Council Meeting I asked the parents to look at a draft family-friendly version of our School
Improvement Plan and after making some changes it is now ready to be emailed to you.
Parent Council
The next meeting of the Parent Council is tonight, Tuesday 1st November at 7:30pm in St
Patrick’s Church Hall. This meeting will be the AGM. Refreshments will be provided. Parent
Council meetings are very welcoming so please come along and help us continue to strengthen
our partnership working. All parents/ carers are welcome.
Children in Need - Come As You Please
The children are always keen to support Children in Need. This year on Friday, 18th
November, children are invited to have a non-uniform day. The fee to wear their own
clothes will be £1 per child. The money raised will go directly to Children in Need.
Focus on Children’s Rights
This month please talk with your children about their right to play and rest - Article 31.
The right to relax, play music, play sports and enjoy drama.
Christmas Performances
P1-P3 will perform their Nativity Story, “It’s a Baby!” followed by P4-P7 classes performing
a variety of Christmas songs on the afternoons of Thursday, 15th and Friday, 16th
December. Each family will be allocated 2 tickets for each afternoon. Any additional
tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
