Potiphar’s house (39:1-4)
•Joseph has great integrity, flees evil &
sin against God (39:5-9)
•He is lied about & thrown in prison

not recognize him
•One would remain behind in prison as a
test of the other brothers

•The famine forced them to return – with
Benjamin (43:1-10)
•Joseph seats them in order – and gives
Benjamin 5 times as much – a test to see
if they are still jealous (43:26-34)
•Joseph sets up another test of their
loyalty to Benjamin (44:1-5)

buried with his fathers – dies at 147
•He is embalmed, mourned for 70 days,

Final Reassurances

•Joseph’s brothers feared he would now
take revenge (15-8)
•Joseph again reassured them (19-21)
They meant it for evil,
God meant it for good
Joseph would provide for them
Conclusions
•God sovereignly chooses & preserves
•God can bring a blessing even out of
man’s evil intent
•Romans 8:28 is still true today
Conclusions
Joseph died at 110.
•God would take care of them & bring
them back to Canaan (v. 34)
•They were carrying Joseph’s bones back
to Canaan with them
•God keeps His promises
