Communication & Marketing: concerned with communicating about and marketing of TiU research and education programs as well as the university itself etc.; Education support: includes program support (e.g., internal and external quality control, scheduling, coordination and curriculum support for Bachelor’s and (Research) Master’s programs), educational advice, training and support for teaching staff (e.g. on didactical issues, educational innovation and use of educational technology), student administration and various student services (amongst which career services) etc. Please note that alumni relations and internationalization are included in separate action teams; Facility services: includes real estate management, safety & security, reception, mail services, maintenance, contract management, purchasing, and printing etc.; Finance: includes placing, budgeting and financial accounts; accounting, central cash resources, account payable and accounts receivable records; functional management of group financial systems and the annual financial statements etc.; HRM: includes HR-related policy and advice (e.g. on employment conditions, legal status, working conditions, personnel facilities, safety, health and well-being, organizational changes, job ranking and target group policy); personnel and salary administration; career services for personnel etc.; ICT: development, maintenance and servicing of hardware and software for research, education and management & office automation; project- and information management (in ICT) etc.; Internationalization: includes recruiting international degree-seeking students for English-taught Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, for organizing international student exchange, and for developing and maintaining relations with foreign partner institutions etc. Please note that program marketing is covered by the C&M action team; Project support: concerns collecting information and advising on funding opportunities, assisting in drafting proposals, project budgeting, project administration, proposal writing training and so forth. This includes all externally funded projects, e.g. research, education projects, chairs etc.; Research support: relates to advice, training, (administrative) support and library facilities for students, researchers (including PhD students) and scientific visitors (e.g. on selection and purchasing of scientific information, use and storage of data, copyright, open access), quality control etc. Please note that project support and Research Master program support are included in other action teams; Secretarial support: administrative support and management assistance for managers and team members at various levels (academic departments, support units, management teams etc.); Strategic support: policy support for administrators at various levels (e.g. Executive Board, Deans, Managing Directors). Includes strategic internal and external (management) information collecting and supply, business control, policy and strategy development and monitoring, compliance, legal affairs etc.; Valorization support: addresses support for development cooperation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and communication and commercialization of scientific knowledge. 3
