Who Can Play US teams - Exceptions? ● Iq Innovate & LAV Challenges are free video challenges open to teams from anywhere ● International team(s) traveling on from RoboRAVE US to RoboRAVE International Colombia ● Have petitioned RoboRAVE International Colombia & RoboRAVE US for an exemption About the Event ● ● ● Dates: May 5-6, 2017 Location: “Robo”querque Convention Center, Albuquerque, New Mexico (see map) General Public Tickets required for Friday & Saturday: ○ Adults: $10 ○ Kids: $3 each ○ Everyone MUST be ticketed; parents, friends, family, etc. ○ Ticket is valid for both days. Each challenge requires a separate registration) Exceptions: ○ Lighter Than Air Vehicle Challenge - Free registration; video required ○ Iq Innovative Robot Challenge - Free registration; video required Registration Closes: April 19, 2017 11:59pm MDT LAST EDIT: April 29, 2017 Teams & Divisions Teams of 2 to 4 Players + 1 Robot + 1 Coach (optional) The Division is determined by the oldest player on your team: ● Elementary School (ES) ~ 8 to 10 years / grades 3-5 ● Middle School (MS) ~ 11 to 13 years / grades 6-8 ● High School (HS) ~ 14 to 18 years / grades 9-12 ● Big Kids (BK) ~ University Students, Teachers, Engineers, Hobbyist, etc / anyone post HS The Process ALL coaches, assistant coaches, and players must get their RoboRAVE Member ID first! 1. Sign Up ● Go to www.roborave.org/signup or click on the “Sign Up” tab on our website menu bar ● This is a free, one time process to obtain your RoboRAVE Member ID ● You need a unique email for each person signing up ● Don’t have an email for your players? Any Coach with a RoboRAVE ID can login and access a link that allows you to submit a group form to get Temporary ID’s for your players. 2. Verify ● Once you register for a RoboRAVE Member ID, an email will be sent to your email address. ● Click on the link in your email to verify your Member ID and log back in: http://www.roborave.org/login 3. Official team volunteer will have choices of times and duties when they complete their registration. About Scoring ● ● ● ● Scoring: Friday, May 5, 2017, 9:00 am-5:00 pm; concludes Saturday, May 6, 2017, 8:00 am - Noon Teams earn event points by running their robots when a track is available; 10 scored runs per robot per challenge with the highest 5 runs used to place a robot in their challenge’s standings The top 8 teams per challenge (Jousting, Line Following, Fire Fighting) advance to single elimination tournaments on May 6th, 1:00p - 2:30p - based ONLY on scores earned May 5 & 6 Before Event Participation: ○ 3 optional activities for teams to earn awards only; Not to be used as part of robot scoring.
