1. Like the game of Go Fish played with a traditional set of cards,
the aim of this game is to be the first person to have matched
each of their cards in pairs i.e. pairs of carbohydrates, fruit and
vegetables, protein etc.
2. Each participants receives 3 cards, the remaining cards are
to be place in the centre of the group to form the “pool”.
3. Starting with the first participant the can turn to the person on there
left and ask them for any card they need to make a pair for example
“do you have a carbohydrate food?” if the participant does not them
they tell them to “go fish” which means to pick a card from the
centre pool.
4. This continues until someone has matched each of their cards
and have no remaining unmatched cards.
5. Afterwards reinforce the food pyramid message by asking each
participant to look at their pairs and to name how many servings the
food pyramid recommends we should eat from this group each day.
