May 2016 NEWSLETTER
Where are the summer temperatures?
Keep an eye on weather reports as it is
still cool out and therefore jackets are a must. Replenish your sunscreen supply
as we’ll be counting on you to sunscreen your child’s arms and faces in the
morning prior to school to protect them from the harmful UV rays.
DEFI Pierre Lavoie throughout the month of May
Starting May 2nd, we will be devoting the last 15 minutes of the school day to physical activity as part of the Defi Pierre
Lavoie. Students will receive credit for being active at recess, lunch and the end of the school day. They will earn extra
points for any extra physical activity that they complete outside of school. Every 15 minutes earns them points. If they are
active with friends and family they earn extra points. It’s a great time to be active as a family and extra points to your
child’s passport. Look for it in their agenda next week!
Exams are in progress It is very important that students attend school every day. Also that students are AT SCHOOL ON
TIME (7:55 AM). Specifically our grade 2, 4 and 6 students who are in the process of writing various board and ministry
exams. Is your child nervous? Reassure them that these exams are designed to test their acquired knowledge. A good
night’s rest and a healthy breakfast will help them start the day right. Good luck to all.
