add value to learning providers’ businesses, to widen opportunities for learning and enhance learners’ experiences in Surrey by
providing a collective voice on national and local issues”.
Network meetings for members
Network meetings are held in The Ballroom at the Farnham Hogs Back Hotel. Meetings usually start at 10.00
and finish about 13.00, with registration and refreshments from 9.30.

National Apprenticeship Week 2017 – 6th to 10th March
With National Apprenticeship Week coming up soon, Surrey CC are keen to promote any local events that
providers will be putting on, both on the events section of the ‘Your Next Move Portal’ and via their team's
Twitter account. If you have any events that you would like Surrey CC to promote, email Gemma and let her
know. Gemma will also signpost to the National Apprenticeship Service's NAW events map.

ALPS Graduation Ceremony for Apprentices – 21st July 2017
For the third year running we are holding an Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony and this year it will be
open to Level 2 and above. Our keynote speaker will be Ann Milton, MP for Guildford.
Please see attached the invitation for your learners which you can start sending
out now. It is important that they reply to you (their Training Provider) and I have
also attached a sheet for your completion that will need to be sent to
[email protected] to coordinate numbers.

We are looking for any Providers wishing to sponsor this event and for £500 you will be entitled to a full A5
page of advertising space in the programme as well as being invited to attend the Employer drinks
reception at around 12.45pm. This will be a great opportunity to network with local employers as well as
inviting some of your own. You are also all welcome to bring your own banner stands for the marquee.

advice seminar EVER
Schools, young people, parents, careers advisors and employers from across the nation are invited at
08.45, on 7 March 2017 to take part in ‘The Big Assembly’ a live video stream to thousands across the UK
wanting to find out more about apprenticeships and career options post 16.

Disability conference for Employers – 1st March
Please see below and attached invitation from the DWP to send to your employers:
We would like to make you aware of a Disability Confident Business Networking Event that is
taking place at the Sheraton Heathrow Hotel on Wednesday 1 st March 2017 from 8.15am-10am.
The event is being organised by a company called Pluss and is free to attend. They are very keen
to include employers from the Surrey and Berkshire areas.
