Blackwood United Football Club Statement of Values
Our definition of success “We know we are succeeding if the players wish to continue playing next year.”
To achieve our definition of success the Blackwood United Football Club values and goals are as follows.




To provide a positive learning environment in which players can develop their football skills;
To ensure players of all abilities receive a fair go;
To ensure the players develop a love for the game of football, have fun and enjoy themselves;
To develop the skills of our coaches on a continual basis.
We also recognise that we have a need to instill in our players;





The need to respect their coach, the club and each other;
The understanding that not everyone has the same level of ability;
To always try their best;
To respect and the laws of the game of football;
To respect the opposition and be both a gracious winner and a gracious loser.
The role of our coaches is to impart the above values and goals to the players. Their success (and ours as a
club) will be defined by the number of players who turn up to play again next season, and not by the amount of
games that we win.
The role of club officials is to support the coaches in developing and implementing the above values and goals
and to assist parents achieve the values set out below.
Values for Parents





To help the Blackwood United Football Club achieve the above;
Only provide positive encouragement from the sideline;
To be a positive role model for players by not abusing the referee or opposing players
Do not shout at your own child (including shouting instructions)
Not to engage in any behaviour which is counter productive
