VIDEO PLAYING ASSESSMENTS
PROCEDURE
Video
1.) Camera must be pointed towards the student.
2.) Please make sure you are sitting in a chair and have a music stand.
3.) You may use any recording device (ipod, ipad, cell phone, computer, digital
video recorder), but you have to be able to either send (email) it to Ms.
Tyson/Mr. Goppold or capable of bring into school to show Ms. Tyson/Mr.
Goppold
4.) If you do not have a recording device please see your music teacher.
5.) A student may also choose to upload their video to Ms. Tyson or Mr.
Goppold’s email address through Google Docs (now called Google Drive).
Please see directions on reverse side.
Playing
1.) You may record your assignment in sections, but please play one entire
section in a single clip. For example, do not piece together each measure.
2.) You may record the selections in segments and show your teacher when they
are complete.
3.) Review the rubric for graded elements.
4.) You must use a metronome for your clips. Please make sure you are using
the correct tempo and the metronome is audible on the video.
5.) If you don’t have a metronome- you can either go to
www.metronomeonline.com (free). You do not have to play assessments from
memory (you may use the music).
Deadline
1.) All assessments are due on the dates listed on the assignment sheet.
2.) Assessments turned in early may be re-taken if unsatisfactory.
3.) If a student has a question or technical difficultly recording their video
assessment, please see your music teacher BEFORE the assessment
deadline.
How to upload and share your video using Google Drive.
In some cases video files might be too large to send via email – use Google Drive to
share with your teachers. Ms. Tyson = [email protected]

Here are directions on how to share your video with your teacher and not the entire
world using Google Drive. To use this method, you must sign-up for a google account
(you can use your own email address) and you must download google drive to your
computer.
Step 1 - Go to www. Google.com

under more on the top of the screen, click drive
Step 2 - Login to your google account. If you do not have a google account, click ‘signup’ in upper right hand corner.
Step 3 - Once in your google account, click the ‘red up arrow’ next to create.

- click ‘File’

- Search your computer for your saved video file.

- Click open to upload your file.
Step 4- Shared your file with your teacher
-
Once your file is uploaded to your google drive, click share.
Type your teacher’s email address to share your file.
