Contessah Wright (Samoa): Contessah Wright is one of those players every touring party loves to
have, because she can fill in almost anywhere and make a good job of it. Without specialising in any
particular role, she’s good enough to be on the field; she has good ball skills but maybe lacks a yard
of top-end speed that would secure a starting spot; she might sometimes feel that she’s almost but
not quite there, but that never dampens her enthusiasm and team spirit. Another who has not played
first-class rugby in New Zealand, Wright was a member of the 2014 Samoan team and with that side
fulfilled what is a dream to almost all players in this country – a test appearance on Eden Park.
