If you have less than 6 positions then please delete rows in the table accordingly. If you have more than 6 positions please insert rows and copy the text accordingly. If the group has been approved during this academic year then the current committee can continue to hold office for next academic year, provided they will still be students at Greenwich. If this is the case then the committee will need to confirm this to [email protected] before the annual Student Groups Forum. According to Union bye-laws, elections need to happen before the annual Student Groups Forum. The Student Groups Forum takes part during the summer Student Group Leaders Training – for more information and dates go to http://www.suug.co.uk/activities/handbook/committees/training/. Committee elections can be done at an all-members meeting or online via the SUUG website. Only current students who are paid members of the society are eligible to vote or run – if previous members are on a study year abroad or placement but wish to run for next year then please contact [email protected] ASAP to arrange this. If you are organising an election at a student group meeting then you must email details of the meeting to [email protected], and invite the VP Student Activities ([email protected]). If a member of Union staff does not attend the meeting to run the election ballot, then you must submit minutes of the meeting and voting records to [email protected] within a week of the meeting and vote, along with the contact details sheet with details from the new committee members. All student groups must have a minimum of 3 committee members, 1 of which must be a Chairperson. Other positions (if they are changed from what they currently are) must be agreed with the VP Student Activities ahead of the election. Student Group Leaders Training for the new committee members will be run shortly after exams finish and the date will be online at http://www.suug.co.uk/activities/handbook/committees/training/ once it is confirmed – it is up to both committees to confirm when the old committee will be stepping down. Both committees can run the society together, or chose a date between the date of the election and the 1st August to choose to handover – please inform [email protected] of when this will be so we can update records to make sure we contact the right people. Information about being a committee member and society elections is also available at http://www.suug.co.uk/activities/handbook/roles/.
