Last Minute Reminders: Overnight visit to CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY
Dear Parent,
I am writing just to give a few last minute reminders for our Cambridge visit this Friday.
Time
We will leave school at 9.15 am on Friday 30th June. We will then travel to Cambridge by minibus
which will be driven by Mr Foster (a school governor & local fireman).
We will arrive back at school the next day – Saturday 1st July at 7.30 pm.
Clothes
Space is very limited in the minibus so we cannot allow large cases – the smaller the better, so they
can be placed beneath the seats.
Each child can bring a small bag containing a change of clothes, pajamas, wash kit, towel (etc). On
the morning, bags will be placed in the downstairs hall.
Children do not need to wear school uniform for the journey down – rather, they need to wear
something comfortable. Each child also needs a coat- at this stage, the weather-forecast is set to be
‘showery’.
Packed Lunch
We will be stopping at the motorway services to have our packed lunch. May we request that
packed lunches are brought in a disposable bag and not placed inside cases. If school normally
provides a packed lunch, we will still do so.
What else can the children take?
Spending money is allowed (£5 maximum).
Mobile phones are not allowed. However, children can bring a small game to play on the journey
down. They can also bring disposable cameras. We must stress that these items are the children’s
responsibility and are brought at your own risk.
Where are we staying?
We are staying at YHA Cambridge, 97 Tenison Road, Cambridge, CB1 2DN. You can view this at
www.yha.org.uk/hostel/cambridge.
As always, if you have any questions or queries please contact either myself, or Mrs Clare in the
school office. Thank you.
Mr Thomas.
