We would like to welcome you all back to Busy Fingers Pre-school and
hope all had a lovely Easter break.
Now summer is fast approaching and the AM children are into their
final term here at Busy Fingers.
NEW THEME:
This half term we are talking all about transport. We will be looking
at boats, trains, aeroplanes, cars and bicycles.
You could join in at home by looking and talking about different
modes of transport.
Please refer to our weekly newsletter for more information you will
receive this every Monday with activities happening that week.

PE Sessions
The AM group will be having PE at the Primary School every Monday
in their set groups. This will include different activities every week
which may involve the Parachute, apparatus, music and movement.
The children really enjoy this time to explore the space available.
This session will run for 45 minutes and some occasions we will be
using the school playing field too. (weather permitting).
Named Bags/Clothes
Please can you make sure your child has a NAMED bag of clothes on
their pegs. Please can you also ensure the children are coming
prepared for the colder weather now with hat, scarves and gloves,
although we do have a small selection in setting children do have
preference in wearing their own. Many thanks.
Please can I also ask that the children’s book bags are emptied daily
as they may be some important information inside. The Children also
enjoy sharing their own creations with yourselves too.
Changes to personal details
Please remember to let us know if any personal details such as
mobile phone numbers, doctors details or any allergies have changed,
it is vital to have the correct information at all times. Please can
you ensure we have up to date address details as this is very
important for funding purposes and school placements.
Pre-School Facebook Page
The Busy Fingers facebook page is a closed page for
Parents/Guardians of Busy Fingers, we use this page to put daily
information on i:e bug notices, advising on activities the children
have done that day, request for resources etc. Please search for
parents/guardians of Busy Fingers and you will be added by the
admin team.
Isabelle Leaving
As most of you are aware our lovely Isabelle will be leaving us next
Friday 28th April, as she is moving to another setting and we would
all like to wish her all the best for her future and she will be missed.
We are currently interviewing for the new position and we will notify
you as soon as a new member of staff has been appointed. Isabelle’s
key children are currently being moved to another key person and I
will notify you all of your new keyworker.
In the meantime if you have any questions please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Phonics
We have now started the Jolly Phonics programme in setting the
phonics we are teaching are S A T I P N. This is phase one of the
phonics programme and children in the AM group will be sounding out
these with actions. Each week we will be focusing on one sound so
this week has been SSSSS – with a snake action up and down. I’m
sure the children will act this out for you. This is a fun programme
that develops children’s learning in respect of individual sounds.
There is a sequence of initial sounds that we have started to follow
with each one having an action to go alongside this. So watch out for
the action
Dates for the Diary
1st May – May Day – the pre school is closed this day for the
bank holiday. We reopen Tuesday 2nd May as usual.
Thursday 11th May – Graduation Photographs for the AM group
who will be graduating to Primary School in July.
Monday 15th May – We have another All 4 Sports session booked
for the AM session at the Primary School.
Friday 19th May – Road Safety Day – (BEEP BEEP DAY), we will
be raising awareness of road safety within the setting.

is also listed on the newsletter (lyrics included we hope you are all
singing along!!)
Fee Payments
As you may be aware the invoices have just been raised for this
terms fees, please can we make you aware of the due date at the top
of the invoice this is set at Friday 5th May 2017. please may we ask
that fees are paid by this date. Many thanks.
Toys from Home
Please may we ask that no toys from home are brought into setting,
some children become very distressed to part with their toys and if
at the end of session the toy is missing this can also cause lots of
distress, so may we ask that all toys are left at home in a safe place.
