School Start Times Weather Guidelines For Outdoor Play Time:

School Start Times
We please ask that all parents drop off their children during regularly scheduled drop off times in order to
minimize disturbances in our classrooms. Drop off times are as follow:
Primary Before School: 7:00 am to 8:15 am
Primary Room Start Time: 8:15 am
Toddler Before School: 7:00 am to 8:30 am
Toddler Room Start Time: 8:30 am
Infant Room Hours: 7:00 am - 5:00pm*
Half-Day Pickup: 11:45 am
Full-Day Pickup: 3:15 pm
After School: 3:15 pm - 6:00 pm
All students should be dropped off prior to and no later than school starting at 8:15/8:30 am. Drop offs
occurring after 8:15/8:30 am create distractions in our classrooms and rob the children of the calm, focused
environment you have chosen for them.
*The Infant Room closes promptly at 5:00 pm. All Infants must be picked up before 5:00 pm.
Please remember to sign in and out EVERY day at the front office.
NEW: **In order to minimize disturbances to our classrooms, Primary students arriving after 8:15
am and Toddler students arriving after 8:30 am must be dropped off in the front office. Students
arriving late will remain in the office with a staff member until after morning group time is finished.
Once morning group time is over, a staff member will walk your child to their classroom.
NEW: **Students who have more than 3 unexcused late arrivals per semester will be incur a $20
late arrival fee, per child, each time they arrive late for the remainder of the semester. Excused
absences include doctor appointments, dentist appointments, therapy services, etc. If your child
will be late due to any of these circumstances, please notify your child’s Lead Teacher and/or the
front office.
Weather Guidelines For Outdoor Play Time:
When excessive heat occurs, the following precaution will be taken for all outdoor physical activity:

Students should be hydrated before going outside and have access to drinking water while outside.

All outdoor umbrellas will be opened to provide as much shade as possible for the students. Students will be
encouraged to take frequent breaks in shaded areas.

All misters, evaporative coolers and outdoor fans will be used to reduce the ambient temperature on the
playground and to provide the students with a reprieve from the heat.

The Heat Index is the “feels like” or effective temperature. On days where the heat index is above 95 degrees,
students will spend no more than 10 mins outside after lunch and no more than 10 mins outside during after
school.
Student Drop-off Locations:
Infants (Rm 5) & Toddlers (Rm 4): Between 7:00 am and 8:15 am, please walk your child directly to their
classroom. For Toddlers arriving between 8:15 am and 8:30 am, your child’s class may already be on the
playground and you should walk your child to the playground if the classroom is empty.
Primary (Rm 1, 2 and 3): For students arriving between 7:00 am and approximately 7:45 am, please walk
your child to Before Care located in Room 2. For students arriving between 7:45am and 8:15 am, if Room
2 is empty, please walk your child directly to the playground.
**Under no circumstances are students allowed to walk the hallways alone or walk to the
playground alone. You must make contact with a teacher so we know your child is on campus.**
**All Primary students must be dropped off either in Before School or the playground, not their
individual classrooms regardless of if their Lead and Assistant teachers are present.**
Authorized Student Pick Ups:
Only a student’s parents and those individuals indicated on the EIIR card will be allowed to pick your child
up.
If individuals other than those listed on the EIIR card need to pick your child up, written instructions must
be provided by you.
Anyone other than the child’s parent must provide photo ID upon arrival and before removing the child from
the building.
Parking
When dropping off and picking up your child(ren), please refrain from parking in any of the covered
parking spots.
Covered parking spots are reserved and assigned to specific tenants within the business complex who
quickly bring parking issues to our attention.
To help ease morning drop-off congestion, please remember that Before-School is open as early as 7am
and is included in your monthly tuition.
What your child should bring to school:
First Day of School:

colored shirts), bottoms, underwear, socks and a pair of shoes. Please clearly label each article of

with your child’s first and last name. Spare clothing will be used in the event your child has a bathroom
accident.

Healthy Lunch Policy
Lunch must adhere to our low sugar policy, meaning all items packed must have sugar (if any present) listed as
the 5th ingredient or lower.
NEW : **No juice, of any concentration strength, will be allowed. Please keep juice at home for
consumption outside of school hours.**
2) Lunch must also adhere to our nut free policy. Please make sure to double check granola bars and trail mixes
to make sure they are nut free. Sunbutter is a great alterative to peanut butter for those sandwiches and rice
milk must be used instead of almond milk should a substitute be needed for cow's milk.
3) No pre-packaged or processed foods are allow. This means Lunchables, hot dogs, potato chips, etc should be
saved for home consumption.
4) To comply with state health regulations as well as Spondeo’s Healthy Lunch Policy, your child’s lunch must
include a fresh fruit or veggie, a protein and a whole grain to make it a complete lunch.
5) As required by the State, your student's lunch must include milk. Student's whose home lunches do not
include either of these items will be served milk and your tuition account will be charged $.50.
If your child's lunch is found to have any items that do not adhere to our lunch policy, we will pack away the
items and send a note home for you in their lunchbox. If needed, a complete hot lunch will be served to your
child and your tuition account will be charged for the meal.
Nut Free Policy
For the safety of our students who have peanut and tree nut allergies, Spondeo is a nut free school.
What does this mean for you? Any food brought onto our campus needs to abide by our nut free policy.
This includes, breakfast items your child may be finishing off when dropped off in the mornings, anything
packed in your child's lunch box, Parent Snack share contributions, special snacks brought in to celebrate your
child's birthday, etc.
We know many of our students are fans of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and peanut butter toast. A great
substitute for peanut butter in these cases is Sunflower Butter which can be purchased at Sprouts and many
larger grocery stores.
We kindly ask that you carefully read any labels on items such as granola bars and trail mixes to make sure no
nuts are present.
Uniform Policy
Toddler and Primary Room children must come to school with a clean, neat appearance and be dressed in an
appropriate fitting uniform. A daily bath, clean hair pulled away from the face, clipped fingernails and brushed

Uniform Hats
When the UV index rises, students will be required to wear their Spondeo uniform hats any time they are
outside. This includes before school, ODE, at recess and in after school.
Please note: non-uniform hats are not acceptable for school and children will be asked to remove them and
wear their Spondeo hats.
Please help us reinforce that their uniform hat is the only acceptable hat to wear at school by leaving all
others hats at home.
Lovies
One small lovie per child can be brought to school for quiet time.
The more lovies a child brings with them the more we see children playing instead of resting at quiet time.
This not only robs the child of the rest they need, but causes a distraction for the other children in the
classroom who need to rest as well.
Lovies that are too large are difficult to store in the limited space we have available. If a child's lovies
become a distraction the child will be asked to put them away.
Rollee Pollee - Please Wash Weekly

Rollee Pollees should be brought to school on your child’s first scheduled day of the week. Rollee
Pollees will remain on your child’s cot during the entire week.

In the event that your child’s Rollee Pollee becomes soiled, it will be sent home for you to launder
and must be returned clean for your child’s use on your child’s next scheduled day.

We kindly ask that you take your child's Rollee Pollee home at the end of everyweek to be washed
and returned the following week.
Suncreen Before School
Please remember to apply sunscreen to your child before arriving at school. As the UV Index rises,
teachers will begin reapplying suncreen before your child goes out on the playground after lunch and for
after school.
We please ask that you refrain from applying sunscreen at school as our floors tend to become very
slippery, especially when using aerosol spray.
