3,2,1 Blast Off!!!
This week the campers blasted off into space,
exploring the universe as they travelled to the outer
reaches of the galaxy.
This was a great third week for the Sundrops (2s). We
had a lot of fun activities for the kids. The
children really loved music where they used different instruments such as shakers. They sang and did
different types of dancing as they used the shakers. The chicken dance was
definitely the favorite dance.
The dentist came this week and the campers got to learn a lot about their
teeth, and had lots of fun.
The children really enjoy being in the water. They love being in the sprinklers
and play so well together. They also love to use the swimming toys and some are
even venturing into the pool with Lifeguard Ayse. We are so proud of our little
Sundrops!
Although this week has been short, it hasn't stopped our Sunbirds (3s)
from soaking up all the summer fun. Our week began with our Sunbirds Dilly
Dotting rocket ships. On Wednesday all our little sunbirds went into the big bird
bath (pool) and we are so proud of them that they overcame yet another obstacle. Not only did all of the children go in, but when their friends had their turn in
the pool, all the campers waited patiently for their turn and didn't run to the
playground.
In gym, we had a chance to bring out a parachute which all the campers loved.
They especially loved when the morahs held up the parachute and they all ran
under! Also, as our campers learn how to say please and thank you, they are also

Snack surprise was a blast! Especially because we blasted off in our
delicious rocket ships!! We took some big marshmallows and stuck them
together, added some jelly bean buttons in all different colors and
controls and of course an edible topper and off they went. So yummy!!
Brush & Floss
This Thursday, Dr. Liraz
Spear’s assistants came to
camp to teach us how to
brush, floss and take care
of our teeth. The campers
had so much fun dressing up
Up, Up and Away!! What a week we
had! We started learning about the sun,
moon, and stars and what they represent. The sun comes up each morning,
and we say Modeh Ani, thanking
Hashem for a new day. The stars and
moon appear at night and tell us its
time to go to sleep. But before we
sleep, we say our Shema and Ha’malach.
We hope you enjoy our project and
hang it next to your bed! We read a
book about stars and constellations and
we said that looking at the sky, we may
all see very different things, just like
in the book.
We took a journey to the moon and
we talked about the planets. Each
planet orbits around the moon, including us on Earth! We discussed that the
hottest planet is Mercury because it is
the closest to the sun. we read a great
book about taking a trip to the moon.
Did you know it takes a day and a half
to get to the moon?
We went outside (except when it
rained) and we each had a chance to
launch a ‘rocket' to the moon. We
screamed with delight as we watched
who made the rocket go the highest!
We did a great job!
as teeth and taking turns to
“floss” and “brush.”
Thank you to Dr. Spear
for sending everyone home
with a toothbrush as a
reminder. Don’t be surprised
if we take a little bit longer
brushing our teeth at night.

learning how to clean up and rush to their next exciting activity. So many of our wonderful campers have
helped the morahs clean up toys from the floor and
put all the books back in the bookshelf. Even though it
has been a short week, our Sunbirds have accomplished so much and we can't wait to see all their
accomplishments in the weeks to follow!
The Sunflowers had an amazing third week at
camp! This week’s theme was outer space. We did art
projects that reflected this week’s space theme. The
campers made the moon for their scrapbooks. We also
made aliens in a spaceship and spoke about our solar
system and each of the planets!
The Sundaes (4s) travelled to a new planet of
their very own creation and depicted it using paint and
different crafts. We also enjoyed painting our own
galaxy.
On Tuesday the whole bunk went into the pool
which was so much fun. We enjoyed eating our ice pops
in the “worm hole” (under the bridge in the
playground) that transported us to another galaxy. We
can’t wait to see what adventures lie in store for us
next week.
arms and arms as legs. Look at our projects this week,
and you'll see what we mean.
We spoke about the planets, and even made our
own "Rainbow Planet". Using shaving cream, food coloring, and water we did an experiment to see how
Hashem makes the clouds produce rain. All the yeladim
enjoyed participating in this duel science/ art
project. After we did the experiment we used the
leftover mixture and created our own Rainbow Planet
on DIY marbleized cardstock paper.
We made our own glow in the dark Galaxy Night
Lights to use this Shabbos. We used glow in the dark

Morah Miriam came by for Music and Dance.
We are learning all about rhythms, notes, and musical
language. We observed Morah Miriam as she used
musical notes to communicate phases with notes on a
xylophone. When she played different keys we
listened closely to see if we should stay in place or
move our seats. We also danced to the Bunny Hop, and
wiggled our chicken tails to The Chicken Dance.
is fun!

The Sunbursts
love to sing and
dance and have a
great time with
their friends. There
is a really special
atmosphere in our all
-girls bunk!
This week we
played Outer Space
Hopscotch and learned how to play relay races. We
sang “Down by the Bay” and learned a new song called
“Black Socks.” We made our outer space in a bottle
using pom poms. Glitter, stars, and pipe cleaners. We
also made alien hats with planets, outer space and
rocket ships on them — and we took silly pictures in
them. We colored superstar pictures and rocket ships
all week long, and we did a really big planet puzzle.
Phew! It was a super busy, super fun week in the Sunbursts!
PJ Day
It was so much fun to come to camp in our PJs.
As a special treat we got to watch a short DVD and
lay on mats in the dark as our space ship travelled
through space.
