Formerly:
Officers and Board of Directors
We think it should say, “for children of
Montgomery County and the surrounding
area.” - passed
The organization shall have a board of directors
consisting of nine (9) voting members. The
President, Vice President, Secretary, and
Treasurer shall be elected by the Board of
Directors from their membership at the first
meeting following their election, said meeting to
be called by the President of the previous year
and to held within one (1) week following the
annual membership meeting.
Proposed:
Officers and Board of Directors - passed
Formerly:
Four (4) members of the board of directors shall be
elected each year at the Annual Meeting for a
two (2) year term. Each of these directors shall be
a member of the organization. Members are
eligible for two (2) consecutive two (2) year terms
of the Board.
Proposed: - passed
As determined by the Board of Directors,
swimmer fees may be reduced to encourage
volunteerism into labor- and time-intensive
positions. For example, a fifty dollar ($50)
credit may be given the host/hostess of
hospitality to help offset the missed time from
work, the trips to the store, etc. Another
example might be that one family would have
a swimmer without team registration fees if
they organize and work concessions for an
entire season. No Board member shall be
given any credit to offset his or her
responsibility as a Board member
Mission:
The organization shall have a board of directors consisting
of nine (9) lay Directors, the Board may have up to two
“outside” (not parents of current swimmers) Directors.
During the annual membership meeting in September, all
members will have the opportunity to vote on the Board
members. While additional candidates may volunteer from
the floor, the Board from the previous year will present a
slate of candidates who have agreed to a two-year term
as one of the following: President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Depending upon the needs of the Board, other members
may include, but shall not be limited to, the positions of
Fundraising Chair, Social Director, Volunteer Coordinator,
Technical Director, Communications Chair, Director of
Recruitment and Marketing, and/or at-large positions.
Proposed:
Four (4) members of the board of directors shall be
elected each even year, and five (5) members of the
board of directors shall be elected each odd year at
the Annual Meeting for a two (2) year term. - passed
Each member of the board may serve only two (2)
consecutive terms in a given capacity. However, if all
team members have been contacted, and no
member is interested in becoming a member of the
Board of Directors, then a board member may
choose to participate for a third (3rd) term in a given
position. - passed
Sugar Creek Swim Club’s competitive swimming
program promotes a healthy lifestyle and provides
the youth and families of Montgomery and
surrounding counties with a positive outlet for
children’s enthusiasm in a team environment. The
sport of swimming offers youngsters an opportunity
to enhance their physical, mental and emotional
development and challenges them to strive for
continuous personal improvement in and out of
the water.
Goals:
Our program is designed to promote the longterm development of each athlete by
challenging him or her to strive for individual
improvement and personal excellence in a fun,
supportive and committed team atmosphere.
