U N I V E R S I T Y of NORTHERN COLORADO College of Natural and Health Sciences School of Mathematical Sciences The Final Round of the UNC Math Contest is on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 1-4pm on the UNC Campus in Greeley. The First Round of the UNC Math Contest was held statewide during the first week of November and approximately 2700 secondary students participated. Approximately 330 of the top-scoring students have been selected to participate in the Final Round. Format of the Final Round As with the First Round, no calculators are permitted. The Final Round is a pencil and paper contest similar in spirit to the First Round. Participants are allowed three hours to work on the questions on the final round. The questions are more challenging and some of them may extend First Round questions. You may find it useful to look over the First Round questions and their solutions. Those, as well as all previous UNC Math Contest exams, both rounds, are on the contest website: http://uncmathcontest.wordpress.com/ Information for Family and Teachers Teachers and family members who drive to Greeley are invited to meet in a hospitality room in Ross 1060 for a solutions seminar. There we will discuss the solutions to the Final Round questions while the students are working on them. Location details The contest is held in McKee Lecture Hall, L152. McKee is building 115 on the west campus parking map. The lecture hall is in the south end of the building and is encircled on the map with a green oval. Ross Hall is Building 12 on the same map, and the location of the seminar room is marked with a blue circle. The seminar room for visitors is on the first floor, in the southeast corner of Ross Hall. There is a color version of the west campus parking map on the contest website. Parking Information Lots D, E, I, and C are convenient and are free to anyone on weekends.
