Stapleton Booster Club Meeting
February 17, 2015, Tuesday at 7:00pm

President Shaw Called the Meeting to order at 7:01pm.
Minutes presented by secretary: Natalie
1. Natalie presented the minutes from the last meeting.
Rae Johnson motioned to approve. Mark Fowler seconded. All Approved.
Treasurer report: Christie
*Balance from Treasurer’s report was $ 8,825.73
1. We paid Unlimited Recognition for the Plaques for $211.87
2. Vertimax – $1500 was paid towards this
Mark Fowler motioned to approve. Ben Jones seconded. All Approved.
Old Business
1. Backboard Lights – Summer Project.
2. 5/6th Grade Tournament
a. The tournament was a great success.
b. Thank the teams for coming to our tournament.
c. Few things to cover for next year
i. Having more than one place for the brackets on the wall.
ii.
Having a program with the rosters of the teams on it.
iii.
Let the businesses know the date when we do the tournament.
iv.
Create a registration form
v.
Have coaches and Refs play knock out as well??
vi.
Cleaning wipes in the concession stands.
vii.
Hospitality room for the refs, coaches. Workers etc.
3. Football score board
a. The Scoreboard will approximately cost $23,152.32. School board will
pay $15,750, booster club will pay remaining amount and any additional.
b. Start selling advertisements, and create fundraisers to pay for scoreboard.
c. Talk to Custer Public, RC Heil, or Tony Smith, about helping electric work.
d. Scoreboard details look good.
4. Club Names/Donor Wall
a. We will create a wall that has recognition of our Donors towards booster club.
i. We are looking at the south wall of the lobby to put the donor wall up.
ii. We will discuss this at our next meeting.
b. We will have these names on our activity flyers/ programs/ wall/ programs.
c. We will have a Membership form for anyone who buys an ad for Booster Club.
5. Campaigning Membership for Booster Club Earlier in the year.
a. This would make it easier to get orders placed sooner for our different prints.
New Business
6. Booster Club K-12 ????
a. It was discussed if we should make Booster club K-12.
b. This will be discussed at our special meeting on March 10th.
7. Booster Club members paying our automatically in?
a. It was discussed if we should still have to pay to be a member or if we are a
parent we are automatically on booster club.
b. This will be discussed at our special meeting on March 10th.
8. By Laws – Changing a few things
a. We will look over by laws and change anything necessary at the special
meeting on March 10th.
9. 5K - Event
a. Committee – Clint Felber, Nicole Recoy, Natalie Prokop, Missy Kramer,
Jennifer Johnston, Kari Stutzman, Kari Joedeman
b. The Committee will continue to work on the details of this.
c. Looking for a location.
d. Registration – Possibly $40?
e. T-shirts if low pricing could be found.
f. Names – Sandhills Stampede. Sandhills Showdown, Sandhills Blowout, ?
10. State Wrestling t-shirts for Justin Brown and 3 coaches
a. Shirts are 6.50 from Shirt shack. Mark Shaw motioned to purchase the shirts,
Shawna Fowler seconded the motion. All approved.
11. March 2, is a special board meeting with the Architect. It would be nice to have
coffee at this event.
a. Consensus was to have coffee, Rae Johnson said she had the coffee to brew
for it.
Next Special Meeting will be March 10th at 7:00pm
Next Regular Meeting will be March 19th at 7:00pm
