From points north of Spirit Fire or Brattleboro, VT:
- Take I-91 S to Exit 1, US-5 and Brattleboro.
- Stay right and merge onto US-5 toward Guilford.
- Travel 1.3 miles and turn right onto Guilford Center Rd. You will see The Guilford Country Store
on the left just before your turn.
- Travel 1.7 miles on Guilford Center Rd. then turn left onto Weatherhead Hollow Rd.
Weatherhead Hollow Rd is 0.8 mi past Tater Ln which you’ll see on the right.
There is a sign for Weatherhead Rd as you approach. Your next turn is in 7 miles.
- You’ll travel on a winding farm & forest road. You’ll pass a lake along the road to your left and will
shortly thereafter be in Massachusetts, though there are no stateline markers. After the lake it
becomes somewhat wooded. Ther woods will clear to reveal farms and then your next turn
approaches. This turn is on a rather sharp curve in the road, so be on the lookout.
- Turn right onto Zimmerman Hill Rd. - again, it is easy to miss this right turn as the road curves to the left.
- Go up the hill and merge left onto Greenfield Rd.
- Just after this, turn right onto West Leyden Rd. You’ll see the town hall on the left.
- Turn right at the winding road's end to stay on West Leyden Rd. There is a rectangular white
directional sign for Spirit Fire at this turn.
- Spirit Fire will be on your right in just over a mile at 407 West Leyden Road.
- Look for a white house with the retreat center set back from the road.
There is a large green Spirit Fire sign beside the driveway.
- Park at the top of the driveway which is along the right side of the white house. If you need
