Keeping It Real (Keynote Breakout Session) - Each day as I enter a school I always wonder who is that
person, what are they all about? It is part of our nature to wonder this. I also believe that this thinking
puts up an imaginary wall that most people can’t seem to get through. If we learn how to break through
these walls we can make better connections with people. The people we have connections with are the
people we tend to value. Wouldn’t it be great if we could actually value all people? I know it would
make your school, job, and environment a better place. The good news is there are skills a person can
learn that will help them value all people. When you value people they will value you and ultimately
they will follow you. This is real leadership when those you lead are willing to follow. Come learn these
skills that will take you past the beginning stages of leadership.
