Rules 1. Rock Paper Scissors with the team captains will determine which team defends which side. 2nd half the teams switch ends. 2. Maximum of six players per team. Substitutions are allowed on the fly or while the puck is being retrieved. 3. Games will consist of two 12 minute halves with a 2 minute rest in between periods. 4. Hockey gloves, hockey skates and hockey helmets are mandatory. 5. No goalies are allowed! Nor are players allowed to fall or lay on the ice in an effort to protect their goal. Such action will result in a minor penalty. 6. Pucks cannot be played within the crease area. Offense must shoot from outside the crease and Defense cannot block any shot or pass within the crease. Defending the net within the crease leads to an automatic goal for the offensive team. 7. The Off-Ice official will have the discretion to award a “penalty shot” to the opposing team when a minor penalty is flagrant and/or when a team is consistently playing in a reckless manner. 8. When a minor penalty is assessed, the team which drew the penalty will be given a penalty shot from center ice. 9. Any MAJOR penalty, which includes any sort of action that could possibly injure another player, will result in that player being ejected from the tournament. The Off-Ice official will determine major penalties. 10. SWEARING at anyone during the play of a game will not be tolerated and will result in an automatic ejection from the tournament. 11. FIGHTING will result in a lifetime ban from the Tournament. 12. The Off-Ice Official is a volunteer and will be over seeing the games and calling any infraction as he/she seem is deemed fair. 13. There are no offside or icing calls. 14. The Off-Ice Official will call out the score after each goal is scored. 15. The winning team will have 15 minutes from the time the game ends to report the score to the tournament coordinator, otherwise the game will be treated as a tie. 16. No sticks above the waist, no slap slots are allowed. Such action will result in a minor penalty. 17. When a goal is scored, the opposing team must yield to the center until an attacking player has crossed the half. 18. When the puck leaves the playing surface, the puck is turned over to the team that did not play the puck out of play. 19. Visible or buried pucks are live, but please allow room to play the puck. 20. Three points will be awarded for a win, one point for a tie and zero for a loss. 21. In the event of a tie during playoffs, the play will move into a sudden death format. 22. Players can only play on one team. 23. No ALCOHOL or SMOKING is allowed during the game nor on the ice.
