Advantech’s UBiQ-360: Continued Excellence in Advanced
Portable Intelligent Scenario Control
Advantech announces the UBiQ-360, a robust and
portable intelligent scenario controller. Like its
predecessor, the award winning UBiQ-350 (winner of the
“Taiwan Excellence” award) is an innovative, high
performance controller, powered by a FreeScale i.MX31
processor, and it runs the Windows CE operating system.
It is able to integrate home theater, ambient light, and
other electronic devices—or provide office and hotel
conference room control in commercial spaces. Access
is via an elegant 7-inch wide, portable LCD touch panel which can also be cradled. UBiQ-360 is available
with a host of wireless communication options and the controller is designed with power-saving features
and a long-lasting battery. UBiQ-360 adds value to a home or commercial project, is easy for system
integrators to install and customize thanks to Advantech’s SUSI API manager, and makes an intelligent
choice for projects aiming to enhance lifestyle or productivity.
Tabletop, Docked or Portable: UBiQ-360 Fits Any Environment
UBiQ-360’s flexible design makes it an excellent choice in any environment. The unit is portable and can
be hand-carried around a room, affording simple and local control of a variety of audio and visual
equipment. The display can be customized to fit office or home decor and sits unobtrusively at-the-ready
where equipment, temperature and lighting control is a mere touch away. It has a portable stand for
freestanding use on a conference room tabletop, and the included cradle offers yet another choice as a
docking station where the UBiQ-360’s internal battery can be charged as well.
Mobile Scenario, Multimedia and Unlimited Applications At Your Fingertips
UBiQ-360’s application uses are limited only by imagination. With a fingertip, centralized control of a
household of multimedia equipment is a breeze. Gone are the days of searching for the right remote on a
table littered with remotes. One place, one stop and everything is under control. Ambient scenarios can
be accessed by one of UBiQ-360’s five programmable control keys, and the system has an infrared
learning option. Intelligent control ensures more efficient and energy-saving use of appliances.

Wireless Options and Power-Saving Design Make UBiQ-360 a Smart Choice
UBiQ-360 makes communications easy. It has multiple wireless options to suit any installation need.
Built-in 802.11 WiFi or optional Zigbee support enables wireless communications wherever they are
needed. With an onboard speaker and microphone coupled with internet access, UBiQ-360 transforms
itself from a passive controller to a two-way communications terminal. UBiQ-360 also employs advanced
power-saving features, including deep sleep mode, backlight control, low power warnings and
programmable suspend and resume options. It is fitted with a long-duration battery designed to keep it up
and running.
