Project Coordinators – 2 fixed term roles
Cricket is New Zealand’s staple summer sport with more than 100,000 people currently playing the game,
making it one of the most widely played sports in the country.
New Zealand Cricket is responsible for the administration of the game in New Zealand, with delivery of
grassroots, club, school and representative programmes managed through six regional Major
Associations. New Zealand Cricket also administers the New Zealand men’s international team, The
BLACKCAPS and the women’s international team, The White Ferns, as well as the New Zealand A, New
Zealand Under-19 teams and emerging players.
Next year New Zealand will co-host the Cricket World Cup with Australia. We want to ensure that we
maximise the legacy of this prestigious tournament to increase the numbers playing cricket at the
amateur level.
We’re looking for two Project Coordinators, reporting to the GM Amateur Cricket, one based in Auckland
and one in Lincoln. These are full time roles for a 12-month fixed term.
The successful applicants will be expected to:




Coordinate and market the primary schools project to maximise school uptake and legacy;
Project manage the delivery of a national cricket registration launch day;
Develop a Cricket World Cup “adopt-a-team” resource for clubs and schools
Identify and support any other legacy opportunities
You will be working closely with Major and District Associations who will be responsible for the actual
delivery of any initiatives identified, so there will be some degree of travel around each region.
We’re looking for people who:





Have a good understanding of the operation of a District Cricket Association or a Regional Sports
Trust
Have a tertiary qualification in marketing or business
Have project coordination experience with good collaboration and partnering skills
Have excellent communication skills with experience of presenting effectively to groups
Are able to work independently, have experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders and have
good organisational skills
