The final round of the Rosauers Open Invitational had professional Jeff Coston of
Semiahmoo G&CC make eight birdies along the way to post a final round 63 to capture
the championship title for the second time. He last won this event in 1997.
Chris Griffin of Tacoma C&CC shot rounds of 65-67-67-199 to finish in second place.
Griffin started out strong making an eagle on the second hole but couldn’t keep
Coston, the birdie machine off for long. The two were going head to head until
Coston grabbed the lead on the 13th hole never looking back.
Professional Lon Hinkle of Eagle Bend GC, Tim Morton of Prairie Falls GC and amateur
Alex Prugh of Manito G&CC were in a tie for third place. Prugh took home low amateur
honors for the second year in a row.
With this win Coston has four titles to his name after capturing the Al C. Giusti
Memorial Invitational in April, the Senior Players in early June, and the Senior
Washington Open Invitational also in June.
