Independent Confidential Counselling Service
NHS Lanarkshire provides a counselling service for general dental practitioners and their
families. It is a confidential counselling, signposting and information service delivered by
Validium to assist you with personal or work-related problems that may be affecting your
health, well-being or performance. No details of any contact with Validium is shared with
NHS Lanarkshire; the only information received by the Board is a statistical report on usage.
The Validium Group Limited runs the service on behalf of NHS Lanarkshire. It is a
professional, independent provider of counselling, psychological and trauma management
services which supports over 300 organisations in the UK.
The service offers you 24 hours a day, 365 days per year access to telephone counselling,
information and signposting services and short term face to face counselling with a
professional psychologist or counsellor close to where you live or work, at no cost to you.
The service is also available to your dependent family members, meaning any member of
the family who lives at the same address as you.
You can call the service on a free-phone number for help with a wide range of problems
from relationship difficulties to work overload, and from change to financial worries. The

to a range of online services, including information sheets, links to other relevant websites,
podcasts and e-Counselling.
