What It Takes to be a 2017 TOGSA All

What It Takes to be a 2017 TOGSA All-Star Parent/Player Contract
By signing this contract, I understand and agree to the following requirements. This signed contract shall be considered as
my authorization for my daughter to be considered for any of the 2017 All Star teams:





All-Stars and their families are ambassadors for TOGSA at all tournaments and are expected to behave as such.
If a team qualifies for State or National tournaments all team and individual expenses are the responsibilities of the
teams and families involved.
Players must choose between All-Star and Travel ball by March 31st. If you play on a travel ball team on April 1st,
you can no longer play Rec "B" All-Stars. TOGSA is a Rec "B" league. “Participate” is defined as taking part in a
practice, practice game, scheduled game or tournament. A single tryout is not participation; however, multiple tryouts
are participation.
All-Star players are expected to make every reasonable attempt to participate in all team practices throughout the AllStar season.
Participation in other activities (i.e.: other sports, family vacations, etc.) that will directly conflict with an All-Star
player’s ability to give a 100% commitment to the Gold All Star team is not acceptable. Players that can’t make that
commitment may be eligible to play on the Silver or Bronze team if the manager approves. Prior to accepting an AllStar nomination, a choice MUST be made by the player and parents as to which activity is the most important. If All
-Star softball is determined to be the most important activity; full and complete participation is expected and
required.
I understand that I must attend or send a representative to the Mandatory All Star Parent Meeting on May 3, 2017. If I do
not attend or do not send a representative, my daughter cannot be selected to an All-Star team unless I have cleared this with
the All-Star Commissioner (Mike Garofolo) prior to this meeting.
I further understand that volunteer participation in the Thousand Oaks Girls Softball All Star Tournament is required by all
parents. If my daughter is selected to an All-Star team I understand that I will have to volunteer for 10 hours of service, five
hours of Snack Shack duty and five hours of field duty. I can opt to buy out of my assigned hours at the rate of $75
dollars for Snack Shack duty and $75 for field duty. If I do not do not fulfill my required volunteer duties or buy out
during the TOGSA All-Star tournament, I understand that my daughter will be suspended from the next tournament.
Lastly, I understand that each family must also commit to 2 hours of work at the mandatory clean-up day on May
13th, in addition to the 5 hours of snack shack and 5 hours of field maintenance. The 2 hours cannot be bought out and
each family must send at least 1 person to work.
I have read and agree to abide by the TOGSA Local Rules including the Section on All-Stars and Conduct.
