Playing Games of Chance
The one thing all games of chance have in common is
that winning or losing is based on randomness. While the
dream of winning is exciting, it’s important to know your
true odds of winning the top prize.
Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs)
Atlantic Lottery offers a wide variety of video lottery
products, including reel games, poker games and keno.
There are many differences among games, including:
• the game rules,
• how the games are played,
• the number and value of prizes,
• how frequently prizes are awarded, and
• the odds of winning particular prizes.
GAME OUTCOMES
• As with all games of chance, the outcomes on
video lottery games are determined randomly.
•E
ach game, and its outcome, is determined
randomly by the video lottery terminal the moment
you initiate the game through the play or spin
button. Although it may take a few seconds to
display the result, nothing you do will influence
the outcome of the game.
ODDS
Every play has the same chance of being a winner
or loser as the one before it and the one after it;
however, your odds of winning prizes of different
values vary based on the size of the prize available
to be won.
For example, the average odds of winning the highest
prize combination in most video lottery games can
vary from 1 in tens of thousands of games up to 1 in
millions of games while the odds of winning a smaller
prize are better.
PRIZE PAYOUTS
• The maximum amount that a player can bet on one
play is $2.50 and the highest prize permitted in any
game ranges from $500.00 to $1,000.00*.
• Prize payouts vary from game to game and play to
play depending on the amount that you wager on
each play.
• The payout percentage of every video lottery game
is over 90%. This means that over 90% of all wagers
are returned to players in prizes in varying amounts
over time.
• Even though you may win on some plays, all players
will, over time, lose an average of up to 10% of the
amount wagered. This also means that players who
reinvest all of their winnings to place new wagers
without cashing out will eventually lose all of the
money that they have wagered.

Sports Products
The odds for the sports games PRO•LINE, FANTASY,
FUTURES and STADIUM BETS fluctuate with the sporting
events selected by the player. Players can choose to
wager on outcomes with higher odds (underdogs) or
lower odds (favorites).
They can also choose to wager on more selections
(up to eight on PRO•LINE) or fewer selections (as
few as one on FUTURES) per ticket. Choosing more
underdogs and playing more selections on a ticket
will increase the potential payout, but it also means
a lower likelihood of winning.
Ticket Lottery – Draw Games
These are the games where you either choose your
own numbers or accept randomly generated “Insta Pik”
numbers. Top prizes tend to be large, but so are the
odds of winning the top prize; the value of, and odds
of winning top prizes vary significantly between games.

Ticket Lottery – Instant Games
Atlantic Lottery offers a wide variety of Scratch’N
Win and Breakopen tickets, each with a unique prize
structure. The overall odds of winning are clearly stated
on the back of each ticket and vary depending on the
prize structure and number of tickets printed for each
game.
