GENERAL RULES & GUIDELINES FOR IM TEAM GOLF (2 PLAYER)

All players must present their own UGA 81# ID Card at every game. Any player not providing his/her own valid UGA 81#
ID card will not be permitted to participate. Players may also use a valid government issued photo ID or passport.
o Any player caught violating this rule or any other rules/policies will face the sanctions listed on Page 4 of this
rule packet.

Players are encouraged to call the Competitive Sports Weather Hotline, 706-542-8648, or check the Intramural Sports
website for weather related cancellations. Matches will take place as long as the UGA Golf Course remains open.
Cancellations will be posted by 3:00pm the day in question. If no decision is made by 3:00pm, teams are encouraged to
arrive at the game site ready to play.


All players must login to IMLeagues and sign up on a team prior to being eligible to participate.
All Intramural Participants must meet all eligibility guidelines which can be found in the Intramural Sports Participant
Guide at http://www.recsports.uga.edu/im
Game Scoring
o Each Match will be between two teams of two players. Teams will compete in a predetermined format
(formats listed on page 2).
Score Cards:
o All score cards must have the following information on them for every match:
 Date
 Team Names (both teams)
 Signature of opponent
What is included:
o The $125 Registration cost per player ($250 per team) includes:
 Six 9-hole rounds with a cart
 A bucket of range balls prior to each match
 One 18-hole round with a cart
End of Season Tournament Will be Sunday, April 19th (tee times may begin as early as 8AM).
Championship shirts will be awarded to the regular season winners as well as the tournament winners.

Absolutely no alcohol or tobacco will be permitted at the UGA Golf Course during Intramural Golf.








TEAM GOLF RULES

A. TEAM-TOTAL STROKES
a. Teams will play with two players from their team, and two players from the other team to form a foursome.
b. Teams will compete against another team.
c. Each team has the opportunity to win 1 match.
d. Teams will add up both players’ scores to form one team total.
e. Score cards will be signed by opposing team to verify accuracy.
f. Team Names will be written on score card, score card will be dated, and turned into the UGA Pro Shop
immediately following completion of round.
B. TWO-PLAYER SHAMBLE
a. Teams will play with two players from their team, and two players from the other team to form a foursome.
b. Both players from each team tee off
c. Team chooses which ball to play
d. Both players play their own ball from that location and finish the hole individually
e. Must use at least three drives from each player
f. Score cards will be signed by opposing team to verify accuracy.
g. Team Names will be written on score card, score card will be dated, and turned into the UGA Pro Shop
immediately following completion of round.
h. Count both players scores per hole
C. TWO-PLAYER CAPTAIN’S CHOICE
a. Teams will play with two players from their team, and two players from the other team to form a foursome.
b. Both players tee off
c. Team chooses which tee shot to play
d. Must use at least three drives from each player
e. Both players hit second shot from chosen spot and continue to hit from chosen spot until ball goes in cup.
f. Score cards will be signed by opposing team to verify accuracy.
g. Team Names will be written on score card, score card will be dated, and turned into the UGA Pro Shop
immediately following completion of round.
D. TWO-PLAYER BEST BALL
a. Teams will play with two players from their team, and two players from the other team to form a foursome.
b. Lowest score per hole is calculated to form a total score
c. Score cards will be signed by opposing team to verify accuracy.
d. Team Names will be written on score card, score card will be dated, and turned into the UGA Pro Shop
immediately following completion of round.
E. TWO-PLAYER SCOTCH GOLF
a. Teams will play with two players from their team, and two players from the other team to form a foursome.
b. Each Player Tees off
c. Team selects which tee shot to play
d. Players then hit alternate shots on (1-ball) until the hole is finished
e. Whichever drive is not selected is the player who hits the 2nd shot
f. Teams must use a minimum of THREE (3) drives from each teammate
g. Score cards will be signed by opposing team to verify accuracy.
h. Scorecard must be turned into the UGA Pro Shop immediately following completion of round.
i. Team Names will be written on score card, score card must be dated
j. If a scorecard is not turned into the pro shop, the match will be forfeited.
