Future First Grader Summer Project-Math Game 2017
Objective: Make up a math game to help you remember math facts. The
game can be a board game, card game or something more physical
such as double facts hide, seek and match. With your parents help write
out the rules and materials needed for the game. If you know your
double facts well, make up a game to learn other math facts. Keep a log of who and when you
played the game. You could teach friends to play this game on play dates. You will be teaching
the class your game during the first week of school. You can create more than one game.
In addition to this game, I would like to encourage you to complete one I-Ready lesson a week.

Directions: Write down the double fact problems and solutions on different sticky notes. Have
someone hide the double facts where they can be seen without moving anything. Once they are
hidden the student goes and finds all the notes and then matches them up with the answers.
This can also be done with paper and tape if sticky notes are not available.

Just as you were there to guide your child when they took their first steps,
learning to read is one of those special bonding times between parents and
children. It is important to continue to practice these skills on a daily basis
over the summer to avoid skill loss. Listed below are suggestions to
continue your child’s amazing reading journey.

highlight the known sight words.
